I hate my Sparkasse. I canceled a transfer to my bunq account because it couldn’t be done in real-time although real-time was activated. And now I’ve been locked out of my account and should contact my Berater....yeah right as if I’m going to reach someone on a Friday night. Which means no access all weekend...which means I’ll have to wait till Monday afternoon till I even have time to go to the bank. Which means if I’m lucky I’ll have access again late Monday evening...worse case scenario sometime Tuesday. F*** Sparkasse 😔😔😔

    @Robert-Silver-Turtle-4265395482#59597 What do you mean with "canceled"?

      Instead of going through with the pushTAN verification, I canceled it because it said it couldn’t be done in real-time even though it was activated.

        @Robert-Silver-Turtle-4265395482#59597 I experienced the exact same earlier today. Luckily I did reach someone who could help me.
        Do you also have chipTAN enabled? So you could at least make a transfer that way if you needed to

          @Roeshimi#59608 No ChipTan Just PushTan. But even if I did, nothing changes. I’m locked out of my account. Very frustrating.

            @Robert-Silver-Turtle-4265395482#59611 Not really. Those are different logins. The pushtan user is locked but the chiptan user is not. I tried

              @Roeshimi#59613 Correct. For my pushTAN I’m using a different login. I didn’t know that I have both. But after today, I’m a step closer to just closing the account completely.

                @Robert-Silver-Turtle-4265395482#59615 I know how you feel 😁 On the phone they told me this was for security reasons. I don’t quite understand what kind of alarm I have triggered just because I start but not finish a transfer.

                  Für mich hat sich die Sparkasse damit endgültig ins aus geschossen. Konto wird nun gekündigt... Habe es eh nur wegen der Girocard behalten.

                  Ne Girocard plus Konto bekomme ich auch woanders kostenlos.

                    @Robert-Silver-Turtle-4265395482#59615 I’m a step closer to just closing the account completely.

                    I did that almost 2 years ago. Haven't regretted for a second. If you keep some cash in your pocket - which I find almost unavoidable as some German stores and bars don't do any cards at all (which is a shame) - you can also easily live without a Girocard. Having no Girocard anymore has never brought me into trouble.

                      @Rembrandt#59702 I’m getting there. I’m just still a bit unsure if it’s the right or best solution for me.

                        @Robert-Silver-Turtle-4265395482#59715
                        Haha, no probs - it wasn't meant to push you. Just to give you some confidence :-)

                          @Rembrandt#59719 No, I was glad that you shared your experience. It really does help to read about success stories.
                          In the meantime, I’m fighting with a couple of companies and banks to get them to accept my bunq account for direct debit. They’re making all kinds of excuses. If things aren’t resolved in the next few days I’ve informed them that I’ll be forwarding the matter to BaFin.

                            As soon as more direct / online banks join the EBA SCTinstant most of the Sparkassen become finally obsolete if instant was personal requirement. Hoping that these new members will use sophisticated realtime transactions monitoring systems from the beginning. HVB and Deutsche Bank are the only large private banks in Germany currently supporting instants and they are known to use high end real-time transaction monitoring systems, at least one of them.

                            I don't know, its only speculative, but what if the Sparkassen doesn't use the latest state of the art tools to detect any security concerns regarding transactions. With normal SCTs there is more "time" to check by the old fashioned way. With instants, especially during off-business hours / weekends you purely rely on high end software / algos / AI. So if the Sparkassen would have these problems they would protect themselves and shut down transfers with the other bank or establish low transactions limits (if they can, SCTinstants are irrevocable). And they would do this relative to the number of issues they have. There are 100s of Sparkassen, on one side acting as a group (also via a Landesbank like the RT1direct participants Helaba and Baylaba) but on the other side on their own, having different connections, directly or indirectly with the giro system. They didn't start form the scratch like all fintechs so they might have a challenging mix of IT that had to adjust to the new world without being able to do so easily.

                            What could be the "security issues" one Sparkassen customers has gotten as explanations from their account rep regarding the instants? If you surf the web you will notice that instant payments like faster payments in the UK and other systems around the world face an increase in misuse. What make it attractive for the criminals is that its instant. They immediately get the money in their hands. And the way they do it is most likely with fishing. All Sparkassen have 50 Million customers in Germany...by far the largest (instant) group in Germany. The large the number of accounts and a probably large share of customers no very familiar with fishing threats could results in a number of issues. These are just my thought. I don't have any real evidence, but might be an explanation.

                            Anyway...If thats all the case this process might take some time to fix. Hopefully bunq can help them or find a common solution. As they told, they are working hard on this and speak to the Sparkassen.

                            It would be very helpful if anyone faces similar instant problems with any non Sparkasse, either Deutsche or Hypo or even other European Banks. I heard of some austrian customers (Austria has a large number of Sparkassen connected to EBA instant system) dont have problems sending money back on forth instantly with bunq. Right now it seems to be a purely german Sparkassen issue. Please post if there are changes with others.

                              @Christoph-Green-Frog#59740 As I said before, it must be a pure Sparkassen issue. I tested it with many German and European banks. Everything worked like a charm from and to Bunq. I wonder what has been already done from Sparkassen and Bunq in order to track it back and have a root cause analysis for this problem. Like for example when did the last SCT Inst. from a Bunq account arrive at Sparkasse etc. when and what did Sparkassen change in their IT system and so many more things. But it probably depends way more on Sparkassen, because they have to be supportive and interested into finding the issue for this failure in their system. I personally hope that the investigations are on a really advanced level, but only Bunq knows all the details of what is really happening or has happened exactly behind the doors during the past days. Hopefully this issue will be fixed shortly...it’s really annoying that something that was so useful stopped working and I started to think that it might be not fixed that soon for this or some other reason. We shall see then what will be the next development like.

                                @Roeshimi#59616
                                Aquiring (phishing) login credentials to online banking should be comparatively easy - as opposed to aquiring transaction authorization through code or other means (de: ā€žTAN-Methodeā€œ), as these are usually only valid once/for a limited time, rely on a second factor device etc... And crossborder transfers to foreign accounts will usually be regarded a higher risk factor.

                                I can well imagine that
                                1. logging in to online banking
                                2. entering a (higher-risk) instant transfer
                                3. to a foreign account
                                3. and then not going through with it but rather canceling, supposedly due to being unable to overcome ā€žTANā€œ transaction authorization
                                looks much more ā€žsuspiciousā€œ of a compromised login than a login followed by a straightforward successful payment.

                                  @NiB#59875 Sounds reasonable

                                    Now the Sparkasse (SOLADES1VSS) is also no longer available via SCT Inst (which worked last Monday 21.1. in the evening). DKB (BYLADEM1001) is still not available for SCT Inst from bunq, but is in the meantime available for SCT Inst from Norisbank (NORSDE51XXX).
                                    Any good news on this bunq? From my point of view it is getting even worse than better.
