It is about time that Bunq keeps up with its competitors Openbank and Revolut, who already offer Garmin pay in the Netherlands. Very tempting to switch bank

@Marcellus-Grey-Badger#77371 You want to switch banks because they don't offer a certain payment scheme to you?
@Roeshimi#77394 If you are a runner and are always bying stuff to eat or drink when you're running I would imagine it could be very tempting to switch, if that means you have to take less stuff with you.
And I don't know about you but paying with my phone still makes me smile.
@Roeshimi#77394 I am exaggerating obviously. Actually, I am a very happy customer of Bunq. Only thing that frustrates me is that Bunq offers services like Apple pay and Google pay in other markets, except for their 'home' country. I am paying 4 times more than i used to for Rabobank, and would expect therefore that Bunq also introduced its innovations in the Netherlands (not just abroad)
@Marcellus-Grey-Badger#77403 Bunq can't introduce this on their own. Both Apple and Google don't allow this for Dutch customers. So if anything you have to complain with them that they didn't start their Pay scheme in The Netherlands yet.
@Marcellus-Grey-Badger#77403 It's not like bunq does not WANT to offer Apple Pay/Google Pay, but they CAN'T offer it, because it's not their choice. Apple/Google have to allow it.
From what I've read here, it seems more probable that G Pay will come before A Pay to the Netherlands.
@JeroenE#77405 Good point, but I think bunq can put more pressure on Apple and Google than me ;)
@Marcellus-Grey-Badger#77407 I think there are not a lot of companies that can put pressure on Apple and Google, and bunq is certainly not one of them :P
@Roeshimi#77408 Totally agree! So you can imagine that a single customer is even less likely to put enough pressure on them ;)
@Marcellus-Grey-Badger#77409 Sure. All you can do is vote with your money and not buy stuff from Apple/Google, but that's tough
Garmin Pay Integration would be awesome 👏🏼 would.
Garmin has under 5% marketshare in wearables, so this probably will come not in the near Future.
Very disappointing.... I would have guessed Bunq would be the first Dutch bank to support this feature. Now I had to use my “Legacy” Rabo account to use Garmin Pay....
So the tradionals banks (Rabobank / ABN) are in when is Bunq offering Garmin Pay support?
Still waiting for this one to switch
@JensH#77684 Hopefully it’s higher with bunq users, otherwise we could be in for a long wait...
@Menbren#88116 Yeah well... in the meantime I stopped actively using Bunq as my first bank account. I now do my payments using my Rabo account using Garmin Pay to pay with my watch
@Raoul-Azure-Wolf#91507 sad to hear this, but it's just not sensical or practical for bunq to support such a niche market, the only reason bunq started with Apple Pay and only later came with Google Pay is simple: The number of active Apple devices far outnumber the Androids under bunq's clientèle, I've heard numbers such as 70/30 at a bunq event last year, meaning 70% of bunq account holders are also Apple users where only about 30% use Android. so the potential for Garmin or Fitbit devices is even slimmer. Do not expect those at bunq any time soon is my advice. just get an Apple Watch or WearOS device.
Still, I think there is value in bunq positioning itself as fintech "bank" that supports many/most modern payment methods, regardless of the current user base.
Ik ben inmiddels volledig overgestapt naar ABN AMRO vanwege Fitbit/Garmin Pay. Mijn bunq rekeningen zijn leeg.
