Yes, I tried both
Yes, I tried both
Actually, I even tried BUNQNL2AHDO
@Carlos-Azure-Hummingbird#59729
Both BIC's you stated are correct. BUNQNL2A and BUNQNL2AXXX. I would advise contacting the Mexican bank. Is it maybe possible you're trying to initiate a transfer within Mexico instead of a transfer abroad? Also, make sure you initiate the payment in Euro's, bunq can only processes incoming payments in Euro. Though that shouldn't be the reason why the BIC isn't accepted.
I was in the International Transfer Tab. I will contact my bank
But maybe, can you see if you have previous Transfer with this bank
?*
You could also try transferring the money via TransferWise which probably also gives you a better rate
Hi π@Carlos-Azure-Hummingbird#59734
As much as I'd like to do that, I wouldn't be able to do that for you as I don't work for bunq. I'm just here to keep an eye out on the amazing community. π
If you have taken all precautions from the Mexican banks side you can always give a shout to the bunq support team. You can find support under profile and then 'private matters' (asuntos personales).
Also, as @AnDue#59742 mentions. Using TransferWise as the in-between party could save you some serious money on fee's and usually also processing time.
The thing is TransferWise doesn't do operation on mexican pesos
@Carlos-Azure-Hummingbird#59787
Alright sorry, wasn't aware of that. π
I am in the same situation with Santander Mexico, did you figure it out?
As far as I know, bunq does not accept foreign currencies. So it must be a Euro Transfer.
Alternative is TransferWise.
@jho#63396 That is correct! ππΌ
@jho#63396 But mexican pesos are not supported by transferwise. You have to exchange to usd or euro first.
What about Western Union then?
Well there is an option , you can use localbitcoins and buy btc with Mexican banks and withdraw by ideal or sepa transfer. But aware itβs not a good rate at all.
The Mexican Bank Account is able to transfer euros, it convert the pesos automatically. However , it declines the swift/sic a correct. (i double checked it)
@SLES-B-V-Olive-Turtle#64148 As bunq has stated that the BIC is really correct, have you tried contacting your bank and asking why it doesn't work?
TransferWise is able to verify the BIC, β‘οΈ https://transferwise.com/gb/swift-codes/bic-swift-code-checker?code=BUNQNL2A&direction=receive
Also, on the website of SWIFT (might be more trustworthy) you can search for BUNQNL2A
and the details of bunq will appear. Looks like an issue on the side of BBVA. π
