Id rather see an opt-in feature for investment purposes in stead of the default "all selected" option where you have to opt-out.

I also understand the people who don't want to receive any interest at all.
That should be an option as well.

Even after reading the email about the update 10, and remember reading the emails should not be mandatory , the normal thing if someone’s think “ I don’t want to invest so I will not go to see that new option “ I checked just duo to curiosity, 5 years could have pass without checking it , to see I have all invest options checked !!!
So I have some money in Bunq for 3 years cause THEY TOLD ME would not invest it and without me changing anything , today they will invest it !! And that’s fair ?

Great work! Microcredit, e.g. Oikocredit, Kiva or Lendahand would be a nice addition.

With regards to the opt-in/out discussion I think it's best to make it opt-out for new users, so by default they benefit from the interest. However, it would have been nice to ask current users to opt-in, since some might have joined because bunq doesn't invest.

I agree with @David#67692 that it would be nice to be able to see what it is exactly that bunq is investing in.

Nice addition! I like having the option of generating interest. While the absence of investments and thus interest was one the main reasons why I chose bunq, it's also a reason for people I recommend bunq to not to choose it. But I agree with the others here that exactly because it was one of your unique selling points, the options shouldn't be activated by default now.
Like David I also think the the information you give about the options (unless there is more than these few sentences you get when you click on the links in the article above) is not enough to make an informed decision. On a side note, the paragraph for government bonds starts with an interesting sentence : "As one of our investment options you can choose...", while it's not a choice...

All of this is information is given in a fairly small update, but I think it actually has pretty big implications for bunq as a bank (although I'm no expert on this matter). Bunq's monthly fee is a little higher than other online banks, like Knab for example (fortunately the experience is also a lot better in my opinion). But compare it to traditional banks and and the price difference for a bank account is even bigger (but here again, bunq offers a superior experience and better features). So while I still think bunq premium offers good value, one of the reasons that I really didn't mind paying more for my bank account, is that I saw bunq as a tech company which doesn't generate income through investments like other banks do. But this doesn't seem to be the case any more. I'm not sure whether I'm really trying to make a point, or that I'm just sharing my thoughts, but I'm interested in what others think about this.
One last thing: I only need to see the welcome screen I get when I tap "My Money" once, as it's not very informational. Or maybe a "don't show this again" checkbox would be just fine. Now it's just a wasted tap before I can make "choices" about my money =)

          By default leave everything off.

How about “bunq” as an investment option?! Not sure how/if that could work 😄

Personne qui France pour m'expliquer comment ça marche avec cette banque

@Kamel-Purple-Akita#68105 Do you have a specific question? Did you already read the french website: https://www.bunq.com/fr/

Don't forget to read all the legal documents. They explain a lot.

"bunq is NOT the only bank in the world that lets you decide what happens to your money.“

The social and ecological GLS Bank in Germany has been offering this for several years now:
                          "You choose
When you open an account with the GLS Bank, it is you who chooses which high-growth sector your money gets put in to. We follow strict criteria when it comes to investing your money.

For the GLS Bank, sustainability means to protect natural resources and to show responsibility for future generations.

Banking activities are based on trust. That is the reason why we publish details of companies financed by the GLS.“

@CuSn#68525 Yep. Or another bank they should know, an old friend from the Netherlands: Triodos.

Granted, bunq's app is top, 25 accounts are nice, the Sofort integration is very cool, you have Apple and Google Pay, and some other stuff other banks can't really compete with right now. But not investing my money (and not receiving interest) was a big part of why I decided to pay money for my bank account. In a pack it's just 5 euros, reasonable enough. But in comparison... not cheap, either.

And now that they actually use the money to invest in stuff, I don't really see the reason for why the costs continue to be at that level.

I would like my money to be available for other bunq users, in my region, for overdraft.

A way to help other users who need a fee hunderd dollar temporary without the traditional bank ‘margin’. M

I love the freedom of choice function but am somewhat disappointed that uses can choose to invest in non-green companies. Even more so because @Ali mentioned on stage that legacy banks invest in things like Alaska pipelines and other nasty stuff. Why even give the option to choose for non-green companies? In addition, I don't understand why this option is enabled by default. As many users won't even know that they can make a choice, they will therefore fund non-green initiatives. Maybe at least make an event at the top of the events screen asking users to make a choice?

@Elise#67290 Can you clarify which European governments bonds you are buying please or the rating of the bonds you are investing in? :-)
