@YTL#69817 My opinion is to keep the money in the bunq system with our own setup microloan and maybe our own shopping mall in bunq etc.
I just switched to Bunq, and I’m disappointed about this new shift.
Especially because you can choose to invest in “all companies”. What does that mean? Companies who make weapons? Companies who invest in harming animals, Nature or people?
I don’t want to invest in companies who don’t actively tribute to a better world, and I don’t want to be part of a community with people who do so.
So do I have to change banks again? And change the blogpost I just wrote about ethical banking for entrepreneurs? :(

@Sandra-de-Jong-Communicatie-Aquamarine-Turtle#69830 no you don't, I know "all companies" can be confusing, but bunq has said they won't invest in shady business, so all companies are ethical companies, but they don't have to necessarily be green or sustainable only, that's why there's a separate toggle for green companies. For example bunq might invest in companies doing research in the medical field, and those cannot always be called green or sustainable because they use a lot of plastic or rare-earth elements and metals to build medical devices such as MRI, CAT or CT-scan or Röntgen scanner or radio-active Isotope's for cancer treatments.
@DaveFlash#69836 If that is the case, maybe this article should be amended to make it a bit clearer: https://together.bunq.com/d/7889-freedom-of-choice-what-classifies-as-all-companies/2 It only says that "All companies" means that a company is inside the EU.
@DaveFlash#69836 I wish your are right and this would be true, I hope so. But so far there is no statement from bunq to clear this point. Maybe @Ali could respond, I would appreciate so much. If your interpretation of „all companies“ and the ethical investment of bunq is correct and proofed by an statement of bunq, it would be great and calm a lot people here discussing bunqs turn-a-round in investment / ethical policy.
@Esther-Orange-Unicorn#69842 According to the amazing Support department that I spoke today... it could be in theory ANY company within the EU. So they don't have a particular policy that would exclude a specific group of companies.
But fortunately, you can disable this option 👍👏...
@JohnDo#69859 Thank you for clarifying this point.
@JohnDo#69859 That would be really disappointing and it would also dammage my trust.
There is to much contrast in “no shady businesses” and “any business in the EU”.
I was just finishing a blog post about Knab and they are very, very vague about their investments and hiding behind AEGON and avoiding really answering my questions.
That’s no problem, because I have a lot of information throug investigations. But I don’t want that proces with Bunq.
I want to trust them and I want them to be clear and specific.
@Sandra-de-Jong-Communicatie-Aquamarine-Turtle#69861 Sehe ich genau so ! Ich bitte um mehr Transparenz @ali
@Sandra-de-Jong-Communicatie-Aquamarine-Turtle#69861 Hi 👋🏼 Sandra,
I definitely think that bunq 🌈 is willing to share more details if bunqers want that. I do think they didn't want to overwhelm bunqers with lots of details. bunq is all about transparency, so let me see what I can do.
Meanwhile, feel free to post all your investment ideas here! 👍💪👌🌈💶

For those who don’t know, european banks have to, by law, put our money into the European Central Bank (ECB) and in Government Bonds, that it not a choice, that is why we don’t have a choice, at least we get a bit of payout. I agree that opt-out for other types of investments was a bad move it should be opt-in. Also there is not enough transparancy on what those opt-out investments are.
@Elixias#70966 in addition to that... before update10 bonds were not mandatory for users because the minimal required investments were financed by bunq 🌈 with their own money.
For more transparency you could give my topic a High Five 👐🏼 👍😁

@JohnDo#70969 I am not sure but those requirments probably grow with the money available thru us so maybe they don’t have enough to cover it with their own capital?
