• Offline modus

@Heiko-Hartwig#61749 In China they wanted my card number and proof that the card was on my name. That particular card was at my wife's house so we had no idea what the card number was. In the bunq app you can see your card with details on it so with that info and a screenshot would have been enough for them. But no wifi so that wasnt possible. When my wife arrived home she gave me the card number by phone so that they could check me in, but my wife also had to send them a copy by mail. So in this case the CVC was not necessary ๐Ÿ˜‰

Google authenticator also works offline, it works with a one time key that is time dependent. You could reset the key every now and then for extra security but make it work in a time dependent way when offline.

Tried this in airplane mode with the ABN-Amro app and the ING app. They refuse offline access as well.

Would be a improvement when these kind of apps let you log on when offline, with basic features like checking passes or account numbers, just for reference.

I think the problem with being offline is the verification. When you log in everything is verified online as far as I know. With some kind of offline mode, the verification is not possible on bunqs end. I do think that it would be a great feature if it were possible.

@Samzoiets#61777 wouldn't it be much easier to just store those number in some password manager or something that is already on your phone..? (I think it was even mentioned above). Offline usage implies that data must be stored on the local device somehow (securely). Now everything is retrieved ad hoc, including all kinds of security checks. ๐Ÿค”

@Sander#61829 And if you can turn on/off this offline mode? With a big warning about less security.
But honestly.. when password managers work on phones, it should be no problem to show some details offline in bunq :p

This sounds like a very good idea

@sellisamat#61856 I didn't ask for a password manager suggestion, I just wanted to say that if password managers can offer an offline mode safely, bunq should be able to do that too :)

To be honest: we are using a mobile banking app. Not an only online banking access. Means, everything should be stored on my phone, except banking updates of course.
For example, I am using an IPhone. There I have at least Touch ID. Security enough.
And in my opinion it is totally contradictory to have access to every detail only if youโ€™re online or to take pics of my virtual cc and store it offline when I am using an app. Than I could use the app of my stationary bank....

Is there any update regarding this offline mode? This week on vacation I encountered several moments that I was unable to check my last balance, or my last transactions, or any others details...

@Tamer#126175 given that no bunq employee has posted an update above the answer to that question would be "no" ๐Ÿ™‚

@Sander#126177 Iโ€™m surprised that nobody encountered this issue?

@Tamer#126288 maybe not too many users are affected. Myself I typically had perfect internet access on my holidays. Might be that the majority of the people here have the same experience. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ Weโ€™ll have to see what time will bring us. (Or actively promote this wish among your peers that use bunq and are affected by this) ๐Ÿ˜‹

When I travel and arrive I mostly donโ€™t have internet right away. It would be great if bunq makes some kind of offline mode where you can see your card details and shows you your last known balance with the last 10 transactions or so. 1Password also has an offline modus where you can store your credit card details, but it would be great if bunq also have this option so that I donโ€™t need to use other apps for it. Iโ€™ve been in a lot of circumstances where I was offline and hoped I could see my card details and my last known balance.

@Jing#141248 War auch oft in der selben Situation und konnte nie mein Kontostand bzw. Details sehen.
