  • Feature request: Web version Private Matters

Hey Matthias,

We only have the support chat in the app because we can help you better in there πŸ˜„

Why? Because we know that you logged in with your credentials on a device registered by you.

This means that we can give you information about your account and/or app without extra verifications because we're in a secure environment. πŸ‘

Isn't that also the only way to log into Together in a browser? - by using the QR scanner in the app?

But the browser doesn't log you out. So in theory you could login to Together on somebody else his/hers laptop and then forget to logout....the other person would be able to ask questions about your account information.

But it would work, if you have to scan the QR code again for security purposes, if you want to open the chat in the web browser.

Also, the app doesn't log me out for a week. At least that's the highest setting.

I get that if you use a public computer you should remember to log out, but otherwise I don't see how the browser version of Together is less secure than the version in the app.

A webversion of Private Matters poses more risks than the in-app chat. bunq could also become a target of phishing by guiding people to a malicious version of the website. This is also one of the reasons why bunq doesn't believe in a web version of bunq. Another risk is it would be harder for bunq to verify your identity.

I think it is a smart move that bunq is a phone only solution.

bunq promotes the API heavily, so while a significant number of users might be phone-only, there are a sizeable number of us who use bunq on myriad devices.

In my case, that's a phone, a tablet, and a laptop. (Business) folks using integrations with services like Moneybird and others would also benefit from a support option that is not tied to a mobile phone.

                Sander unlocked the discussion.

Now that we have bunq web available, would it be possible to use that to contact support if needed? Usually typing on my phone is good enough, but when you have serious issues, a big screen and keyboard is really nice to have.
                  What do you guys think?

@Bryan#107299 I couldn't agree more... because typing isn't always ideal on a smartphone πŸ˜‰πŸ“±... especially when you have such good talks with Support πŸ‘Œ

@Bryan#107299 You can always drop them an email on support@bunq.com, it will just be imported into the support chat if sent from a registered emailadress.
