Hi guys!
I'll jump in to explain our thinking here.
We were seeing a lot of our new users not know they could "temporarily deactivate" their cards at any time for security. One of the really powerful features of bunq cards is that control, so that if you lose it you can just freeze it, and know that it can't be used until you unfreeze it again.
I know that most people on Together already knew this, but we needed to make sure a new person could discover it themselves in the app.
Hence the new freeze button as part of our cards redesign. It makes the function really clear and discoverable, and it lets you access it very quickly if you need. ❄️
In terms of tapping it accidentally, if that did happen then no worries! The card changes quite clearly to let you know it's frozen. And, you're only one tap away from unfreezing it again 😊.
You can freeze and unfreeze a card at any time 💪.
