I think... a company doesn't store your CVC code. So if for some reason they ask you again for this code, it has to be a new valid code I think because the will do an automatic online check. So, the ability to see which old CVC code you used doesn't going to solve the problem. But again, that is how I thing it works :)

Exactly this. I’ve actually had it yesterday, just used a new CVC just to do a verification without reserving money. Just to check if you’re indeed the owner of the card (or have it in your possession).
