I heared that Maestro is accepted in the London underground, except for the majority of Dutch bank cards 😏, is there someone who tried this with our bunq cards?

Because bunq is like no other bank 😉

@Michael-Olive-Frog#65408 I've used my bunq card in the London underground without any problems, but I don't remember if it was Maestro or MasterCard.

So I would advice to just bring both and then you're all set.

I have just returned from a business trip to London. Both maestro and masterdcard worked fine! 😄

      Even Apple Pay worked flawlessly.

Be aware that the daily cap +- €7 is preformed afterwards, during the night following your travels.

I initially 'payed' €27 which was later adjusted to €7.

@Samzoiets#65453 Nothing extra, the prices are the same as using the oyster card. Daily cap is €7,99 as converted with bunq zero fx.

Sounds great... will use the Maestro or Mastercard. I understand that there is max. charge of €7 and thats recalculated afterwards (nightly)?

I have still an Oyster Card at home (empty), but better use my bank card now.

@Loran-Purple-Panda#65471 Daily cap? As the max. amount for a day? Why would I buy a Londen Travalcard for €16 per day?

@JeroenE#65613 nice! very excited to test the future way of paying for public transport next week, got everything set up as well through the 'Oyster and Contactless'-app from TfL so I can keep a travel log. (which is not strictly needed, required or necessary for tourists, but I like it anyway)

Tuesday 26 nov, 08:04 GMT.: Special Update from, Victoria Station, London, UK: Yes I can confirm, Maestro Cards from bunq work with Oyster and Contactless including in combination with Apple Pay, just tapped in with my iPhone for an overgrond train to another part in London without any problems.

@DaveFlash#134008 Hi dave, my question.if i go to london next month will the bunq card will work? master of meastro?
                  thanks.

I used the TFL with bunq MasterCard already, works like a charm!

Das hört sich gut an, also nur die Travelcard oder Maestro draufhalten oder brauche ich eine App

@Wesdelamontagne#140807 yes both of them will i just said so ;_)

@jensb#140868 no just tap and go. no app needed. In busses only tap once. for metro, trains tap in and out

An important note: if you use Apple Pay, you must use the same device for both checking in and out. If for instance you use your watch to check in and your iPhone to check out, then it’s considered as using 2 different cards and you pay twice, with penalties! I had that unpleasant experience with my Bunq Travelcard...
