Is it really only the first 10.000€ that generates interest? I read today that you need atleast 35000€ to get the bunq costs out of it with interest, but I get this is not possible?

Yes, that's true. Also if you're in a Pack, you share the limit together. So the limits are:
- Premium: max €27 / year
- Pack with 3 others: max €6,75 / year
Yearly premium cost with maximum interest:
- Premium: €68.88
- Pack with 3 others: €53.25
Its still free money though, but not a lot, especially since most people I know are in a pack. Simply see it as a discount on the premium cost.

This I find weird to be honest. Looking at the Terms and Conditions you are right;
If you are a bunq Pack member, the capped amount is divided by the number of users in the Pack. Are you a co-owner of a joint account? When calculating the interest, the total balance of the joint account is equally split between all of the co-owners and so is the amount of interest.
So, the Packs have been sold as "completely independent", the only thing connecting you was the billing process. But now all of a sudden my interest depends on who else is in the Pack... I find this a bit weird to introduce like this..
@Sander#67346 Yeah, that is very weird. So I will skip interest for now.
@Thom#67330 I thought bunq would like to get more new bunq’ers. With this weird limited interest based on type membership and also limited to €10.000,-
@Jos-Golden-Unicorn#67350 it's enabled by default so there's not really an option to skip it, you get interest regardless of your settings if I interpreted the Terms and Conditions correctly. 🙂
@Hunter#67352 Due malfunction of together I couldn’t finish my previous message. So I will continue here...
For me with these limits then this is not a reason for me to move my money to bunq if I receive more interest even above 10.000,- limit somewhere else.
And bunq calls it as MASSinterest. But it isn’t mass at all. Just a small 10.000,- or 2500,- if you are member of a pack. 🥴
@Sander#67346 Completely agree here! I get that packs are discounted but if you are the bank of the free...
Also don’t really get the €10.000 limit. It’s more of a gimmick now, not really usable at all. Their plan sounds solid so why not make this a real investment option?
Is e everyone sure that everybody will get interest no matter what?
@Hunter#67385 I agree, I will put my saving money to Moneyou
Really disappointing to read the "small letters" after the big announcement.
Also brings me some questions: Does this mean that as a pack member only €2500 of my money gets invested then? And can you use the limit of another pack member if he/she doesn't use it?
@Sander#67346 I have thought hard and long about the "Pack" part... but honestly I don't get it. A matter of fact, it probably is the strangest rule I have ever heard.
And the most strange part of this already very strange rule is that out of the blue my Pack has a consequence feature wise!
bunq 🌈 really lost me on this one. And I gotta say, I dislike this.
Disappointing. It is announced as 9x more interest than the competitors, but because of the limit, the total is still lower than that I get from other banks.
I'm wondering, if I have let's say €4000 on all my bunq accounts and count the massinterest I get and also count in that I'm in a pack (€5 a month) . Would it in the end then be a better idea to move from the pack to a single premium account of €8 a month, because then I get interest on the full 4k instead of 2,5k? So might it be that bunq I'd actually but silently promoting to un-pack when you've got a few thousands of euros on your accounts?
@Dennis-Golden-Akita-1537838190#67892 If you kick somebody out you can get it up to 3333,33! ;) Just kidding.
I don't see how you could use other pack members capped amounts. Bunq would be leaking personal information about the total amount of money on that persons accounts to you. That's not nice to do.
@JeroenE#67910 Totally agree, that's why I asked that question.
I understand why bunq can give ‘high’ interest with these weird rules. Because the limit doesn’t mean they don’t invest the rest of the money that’s left.
To compare it to other banks; I get 0.25% on everything, with no subscription costs at moneyou.
I know it’s ‘free money’, but don’t present it like you’re changing the world. It’s only an excuse to start investing the money to earn money AND still charge subscription fees.
