  • Using the bunq Mastercard with App Store?

Hallo, ich verzweifelt gerade, ich möchte meine bunq Kreditkarte bei Apple im iTunes Store hinterlegen - aber er schlugt die nicht. Es heißt die Karte kommt aus einem andern Land. Und nun?

    @Tobias-Turquoise-Starfish#72973 Did you order a card from the country you live in or one from another country...? (Eg: ...redacted...) If the latter is the case, it won’t accept that in the App Store.

    If that’s not what you did, might I ask where you live? Which country?

        @Tobias-Turquoise-Starfish#72990 Ok, so you live in Germany, your address + country at Bunq and at Apple is set to Germany and you ordered an online card whilst that was all set this way? Then it’s strange it doesn’t work, it should work fine. When you tried to add the card, was there balance on the card? (At least €1,00)

          Es ist alles auf Deutschland eingestellt. Bin aber gerade im Ausland. Spielt das eine Rolle?

            @Tobias-Turquoise-Starfish#72997 That’s good. :) Hmmm, well technically as far as I know it shouldn’t matter unless your phone changed its region settings... But I wouldn’t be surprised if Apple upped the restrictions and want the card to be added whilst you’re in the same country (in which case using a VPN located in Germany would potentially solve the problem.) to prevent abuse with stolen cards...

            I can’t say for sure though. I’d try again in Germany. If you can’t add the card there either, then something is wrong.

                Well it’s really odd. As far as I know bunq’s cards for Germans are issued from Germany. There’s no reason the app store should refuse that unless the country set in the App Store is different. Or if you used a workaround before to get a card from another country.

                Can you not add it as payment method at https://appleid.apple.com/account/manage either?

                If so, I’m out of ideas if all of that matches and I can’t recommend anything but trying again when you’re back in Germany to see what it does there. Or are you not going to be there for a while? In that case, I think the quickest resolution will be to call Apple.

                      This usually only happens if the card is from another country. Like, Italy for example.

                      If it doesn’t work, I advise you to ask Apple.

                          I added one of the new bunq online-cards a few days ago (at itunes/apple-ID) from germany with german address, no problem. What could cause a problem, I think, that the online cards are bundled (they share the CVV) and I wouldn't be surprised if they where "issued" all in the same country.
                          So maybe you "were" not in germany while creating the first one?

                            Works for me. Got an online card for my German bunq account, added it to my German Apple ID while in Germany and was charged/refunded by Apple 1€ to enable the new card.

                              Also, vorausgesetzt du hast eine deutsche Apple ID und einen deutschen bunq Account (also mit deutscher Wohnadresse), dann sollte es eigentlich gehen. Apple akzeptiert immer nur Karten aus dem Land, wo man auch den Account hat.

                              Ich wuerde also mal den bunq Support fragen, ob die Karte, die du versuchst dort zu registrieren auch wirklich auf Deutschland ausgestellt ist. Theoretisch koennte es hier einen Fehler gegeben haben. Ausserdem wuerde ich noch einmal sicherstellen, dass du wirklich eine deutsche Apple ID hast. Vor allem fuer den Fall, dass du moeglicherweise mehrere Apple IDs nutzt oder man aus dem Ausland nach Deutschland umgezogen ist, kann man hier leicht einen Fehler machen.

                                Es liegt definitiv an der Region. Das IPhone oder IOS merkt oder sieht anhand der Standortdaten wo sich das Handy befindet.
                                Ich verwende das IPhone X und war letztes Jahr in China. Und ich konnte gewisse Deutsche Apps nicht installieren. Und als ich wieder in Deutschland war ging es wieder.

                                Also keine Sorge es sollte bei deiner Rückkehr gehen.

                                  @Tobias-Turquoise-Starfish#72973 Du kannst auch gut selbst prüfen, ob deine bunq Karte eine "Deutsche" Karte ist, also ob es an bunq oder iTunes liegt. Die 7. und 8. Stelle gibt das Land vor.
                                  "5374 65" - und dann? Wenn es "03" ist, dann ist deine bunq Karte eine "Deutsche" Karte, wenn es z.b. "04" ist eine Österreichische.

                                    @Jakob#73042 binlist.net ist eine Datenbank, die gepflegt werden muss. Die bunq Karten sind dort nicht immer korrekt hinterlegt, daher mein Vorschlag einfach selbst die 7. Und 8. Stelle zu überprüfen.
