On February 26th bunq introduced „Freedom of Choice“ and „MassInterest“. And suddenly I had all the new categories preselected, that weren't there the day before, even though I didn't upgrade to 10.
So what happened? bunq decided:
- that I want to invest my money,
- how I want to invest my money and
- that I want to receive interest.
Thus bunq gave me/us freedom of choice by taking it not once, not twice, but three times!
Today – 16 days later – bunq launched a toggle for MassInterest to give us even more freedom to choose.
But how?
Again by making the choice for us. The toggle „I Want to Receive Interest“ is activated by default.
Is this really freedom of choice?
It makes a big qualitative difference whether you affirm something or deny something.
To make this clear: I welcome this toggle.
But again Opt-Out instead of Opt-In is not really an occasion to party, rather the opposite.
All of this has a very bitter aftertaste. @Elise Was that by accident (again)? Or intentionally?
Somehow the word proud doesn't fit here at all, imho.
