  • Detect IBAN from a whole text in the clipboard

Hey! πŸ‘‹

I really love the IBAN in clipboard detection, but I have one issue with it:
When it's not just the IBAN in your clipboard, the detection doesn't work anymore.
Some banking apps don't let you copy just the IBAN, they let you share your banking details, but they always add "IBAN:" or other words to it, so at the end it's not "just the IBAN" in the clipboard.

It would be cool if bunq's IBAN in clipboard detection would even work with that :)

@johannes#75300 I think even bunq itself puts IBAN in front when you use the copy to clipboard button (they also add the BIC code). At least on Android it works this way.

This would be very handy indeed (and not really difficult to achieve imho). +1

Even more awesome (in my opinion) would be: sometimes someone texts or emails me with something like "you can pay me 3 euros on IBAN 01234 in name of J. Jansen" Wouldn't it be awesome if I can copy that text en when I open bunq, the app says "do you want to pay 3 euros to IBAN 1234 to J. Jansen?"

Now I have to copy the IBAN, switch back to the chat to check the spelling of the name (or copy it) into bunq, switch back to dubbelcheck the amount, and then pay.

@Petervdv#75328 Well you only need to remember the amouny and copy the IBAN.

There is no check done on the name; only if it’s a valid IBAN.

@johannes#75341 And how would that work? As there is no central database of all bank accounts with corresponding names in the Netherlands (or EU)

@Arthur#75346 The name check happens at the receiving banks end, it's actually happening already with N26 for example.
When they started checking the names for bigger incoming transfers some people didn't got their income because of a 2. First name that was missing and so stuff.

@Arthur#75346 And for that there is no database of all bank accounts needed, the sending bank is sending the transfer with the name provided and the receiving bank is using it to check if its the correct name.

@Petervdv#75328 I would really love to have that in bunq. I know of MoneyMoney on the Mac that you can copy the whole text of a bill you received to the clipboard and it detects the correct amount, the IBAN, reference and recipient.
Imagine having that in a mobile app. :)
