  • @beekie#284015 When the wheel was first introduced it was easier to win. I have won some €1s, once 3x interest, a metal card, and 60+ trees. Nowadays all I can win is 3 more spins (then win nothing). I guess everyone’s started spinning and the chance of winning gets smaller.

    • @thijsoost#284008 Bedankt for thinking along! I almost forgot that rule. However, as Peter also stated above, I have asked and was told that the award metal card wouldn’t count towards the 3 card limit. That’s probably why I wasn’t charged this fee in the past several months. So I will ask the support for this. But that 3 cards rule definitely rings a bell.

      • I won a metal card 🥳 many months ago and have been using it since then. It’s always been free for me.

But today I checked the upcoming bunq invoice for next month, and there is a €3.49 pm subscription fee for this metal card? How is that fair?

        1. I won this card from the wheel of fortune. It’s not like I asked for it myself.
        2. Why is this fee never communicated, but just appears on my next invoice quietly?

I love bunq but oh these ‘surprises’

        • @emily-Blue-Wolverine#281209 Thanks for your response!! I’m excited to try out this feature too. However I don’t see Cashback Earned in the transaction.

          • Hi all! I’m in the cashback piloting. I notice that the cashback advertisement only mentions Mastercard credit. I wonder if my metal card is also eligible for cashback (technically it’s also a Mastercard credit, right?)

I’m on easy money subscription. My metal card is from winning in the wheel.

Is there a way to check if a transaction leads to cashback gains?

            Thx

            • After updating to the newest version I’m surprised to find that I’m having 2 trees less than before.

I’ve been at 60 trees for some time. But now the app says I only have 58. Not that it’s a burning issue but curious to know why.

Also, I was at less than 10% co2 offset. Not the app says I’m 100% offset. Did the calculation method change?

I’m not entirely onboard with this greenwashing fancy tree game. But it’s better than nothing isn’t it? I love the tree leaves confetti effects in the app though.

              • @Jakob-Y#275034 With the new update we can see the remaining withdraws in the app. But I believe previously we discussed here and support confirmed that the 2 withdrawal limit is per account. So if I have 2 savings account, each of them could be withdrawn twice per month. However, now the way the app counts for the remaining withdraws seems to be only 2 withdraws across all savings accounts. I withdrew twice from a savings account and all savings account now show 0 remaining withdraws. That further limits the flexibility. Is it a bug or did they change the way they withdraws are counted?

                • Although the acceptance of Mastercard Debit is evidently increasing, I did come into 3 occasions this week where my bunq MasterCard Debit was not accepted. So I had to use my old Maestro. These include:
                  Primera Rotterdam Zuidplein
                  Amazing Oriental Rotterdam Zuidplein

Now that bunq stopped issuing Maestro I can see new customers running into problems when paying in the Netherlands. I do hope merchants upgrade their pos machines quicker to accept better cards.

                  • I have won once 10x interest, twice €1, once 10 trees, and 10+ times one tree

                    • many pos machines in the Netherlands have upgraded automatically to accept at least MasterCard Debit. I’ll keep trying to see if this is the case at smaller shops, but at Albert Heijn they are already starting to accept MC debit.

I also always wonder if I could do something to encourage merchants to accept Visa/Mastercard/Amex.

                      • Our local Albert Heijn accepts it. So I think most pos will accept Mastercard debit now. I’ve always thought of ah as the most stubborn of all. Will try it on the market next time and see how it goes.

                        • @New-Cyan-Basilisk-3069237711#273819 yeah they changed from giving interest to all accounts to only ‘savings accounts’ can receive interest. Annoying but at least the interest rate increased.

                          • I went to a T-Mobile store in 2020 and have a subscription with my bunq account with them since then. I now have monthly paid loan from them for a phone. Never had problem from them about the bank account. Maybe try visiting a store and sign up there?

Sorry to hear that bunq account is discriminated against.

                            • I also just tried and my debit MasterCard from bunq worked in Spar where they used to only accept Maestro. Great move! Now I hope credit card gets normalised soon.

                              • @Peter-Golden-Lion#273789 I checked ING and ABN AMRO’s business website. Accepting MC Debit now costs exactly the same as Maestro before. Come on all the world is using debit and credit cards there’s no point holding on to Maestro. It’s cheap because it’s outdated and losing many functions that modern day people need.

                                • @sthtorun#273731 I read from ING’s business page that from the end of 2024 it would be compulsory to accept credit cards. Wishing it to happen sooner

                                  • I received the email that bunq’s stopping issuing Maestro from Jan 16. Finally🎉🎉!!! Just wonder do all those shops in the Netherlands that only accepted Maestro/VPay before already accept MasterCard Debit? Or even better MasterCard Credit?
