how much cash can i take out at the cash machine in France?
can we set up french prelevements? ie to the water company, the electricity company etc
how do i pay a cheque into my account?
thank you

    Hi @Jonathan-Magenta-Lynx#76456

    There is a maximum withdrawal limit of 500 euro per day per card. This cannot be raised.

    Yes, it's possible to do payments through European (SEPA) Direct Debits. Please be aware many French companies don't comply with SEPA law and won't allow you to use a non-FR IBAN. But, they are obliged by law to accept them.

    It's not possible to deposit cheques or pay by cheques. It's a dying payment method, also in France. The bunq team likes to look forward and facilitate modern and safe payment methods. Debit cards with branding of Maestro and Mastercard are widely accepted in France and should suffice as a standard.

      Tim changed the title to Using bunq in France?.

        Can you tell me how to set up a direct debit / prélèvement?

          @Jonathan-Magenta-Lynx#76567

          Simply give your IBAN to the company that should charge your account. This can be done through regular channels for that company which will either be telephone, internet or mail.

            Thank you... I’m moving from another bank... do I need to contact every company I have a sepa direct debit, or is there a quicker way?

              @Jonathan-Magenta-Lynx#76590 There is a switch service, but only if you change from another Dutch bank account. If you switch from a French account, then you would have to contact the companies manually one by one.

                In setting up the direct debit, My french mortgage company won’t accept my bunq IBAN . They say they need a RIB which has to be from a french account. They provided a customer service email address to challenge it. can I make them comply with SEPA law? Or am I wasting my time trying? Thank you

                  @Jonathan-Magenta-Lynx#76633 Yes, they have to comply. Search for IBAN discrimination to find more info on your rights.

                    @Jonathan-Magenta-Lynx#76456 C'est une carte a débit donc petits soucis autoroute réglé avec (bip&go), station essence, locations. Iban refusé par opérateurs télécom et direct énergie (voir pour les autres) alors j'ai carte max ( juste carte et iban gratos). Pour le salaire ma boite est ok, mais pas encore franchis le pas.

                      @Jonathan-Magenta-Lynx#76456 Ha oui. Oublie pas de déclarer aux impots ou ca va faire mal

                        @BigBoss#76679 Salut Bigboss, pour les impôts, comment puis-je déclarer ce compte ? Si je ne déclare pas, que va-t-il se passer ?
                        Merci

                          @BigBoss#76891 Ahah excellent !

                            @Jonathan-Magenta-Lynx#76633
                            Mortgage company wants to collect the money from you. If you've agreed on payment by direct debit, they have to accept your NL IBAN according to EU law (regulation 260/2012).

                            You can basically tell them to fix problems on their side - it's not your problem. The question is, if and how much you're willing to stand up and fight for your rights. I would imagine that worst case, if things escalate, they could initiate debt collection or take you to court - though I can't imagine how you could lose there.

                              Is it possible to deposit cash into your Bunq account in France with a bar code ?
