USD Account please 🙏🙏🙏
There are many other providers that carry plans to retain bank accounts in other currencies.
Why would people like to see this at bunq, rather than opening an account at a specialised provider? What would the advantages be, considered the extra effort bunq has to make in order to provide this service to a small customer base?
Can see the advantages for the customer base of having only one bank, but given the disadvantages is it worth the effort?
It would be cool if we could schedule a payment in dollar so that bunq calculates the value at the moment it's paid - so that we can book subscriptions in dollar from a separate account without either having to adjust the transaction from the main account to the current dollar-value or just paying too much and having that money taken away by auto-saving again
Many, like myself, live in Europe and receive payments in USD. Here are my pros for having a USD account with the same bank that provides a EUR account: TLDR: Earn USD, manage with EUR bank, simplicity + savings
Simplicity: The reason I use a digital vs traditional banks is for the convenience and simplicity that digital services provide. It's in my and the digital bank's interest to work towards making my financial life easier. In this case, like with what Revolut offers, having a USD account would remove the requirement of having a completely separate account with another provider, like Transferwise, making dealing with USD much easier.
Savings: Being able to pay through another currency, and have the currency exchange done just-in-time, gives me the opportunity to take advantage over currency price difference. EUR-USD has been decreasing in price for the last year, if you sent all your money from USD to EUR in the past and have not used all of it then you've lost some of its value. By keeping the money as USD I can prevent loses due to EUR-USD fluctuations, and keeping it with the same EUR bank makes payments easier by using one card/app.
Purchases: Having a USD account makes it easier and simpler to travel/purchase, as I can use my current digital bank to manage my finances while I travel/purchase in a region that accepts USD, also not loosing on transfer rates if I already earn in USD.

@JensH#59297 Avoir plusieurs devise permettrait aussi de protéger son argent
We would also really appreciate USD accounts. Or at least the opportunity to receive USD (converting it to EUR).
That's what I don't want @bernd. Looks unprofessional in my opinion.
I would LOVE to have a multicurrency account, especially CHF. Some of us live in the border sites or are cross border workers, since IBAN discrimination shouldn’t be a thing, that would make bunq premium price totally acceptable and besides that, bunq would be a true European rainbow bank. Looking forward for it!
You can nowadays upgrade your Transferwise with the borderless account, so you can have dedicated accounts for currencies. I'm not sure if bunq will add this option soon, because:
bunq = bank.
Transferwise = currency exchange.
Given the UK launch, currency of GBP would be helpful as option for accounts (whilst retaining Euro currency option for when visiting our lovely EU neighbours) and also UK account number and sort code as our system doesn’t generally use IBAN day to day.
Yes, it would be nice if we could have an USD account with bunq.
So let's hope in 2020 we will have this option.
Please add this! 🙏
I am a big fan of Bunq and a long time user. Last year I moved back to the UK and you really can't do a lot without a GBP account. So I started using Starling, which is awkward at best. I really miss Bunq and I'd love to have it back. Currently, however, Bunq cards are not accepted everywhere. I often have failed payments in shops which is embarrassing.
So, I'm really hoping for a GBP account. 🤞🙏🤓
+1!
I would also love an USD account. Multiple currencies like GBP etc is also appreciated and welcomed!
I think a lot of us are really looking forward to this. bunq Update 14 ideas!
To deposit and hold in a few foreign currencies would be useful. In fact make it like revolut with multi Currency buckets and if you are in a country and have funds in that currency , use it automatically, otherwise default to base currency zerofee exchange
