  • Suggestion: Bunq Couple

Dear Bunq'ers,

what's Bunq Couple? Nothing, it doesn't exist. It would be a middle tier between Premium and Pack.

Right now we have 7,99€ / pp × month and Premium 19,99€ / 4p × month, which places it on ~ 5€ / pp × month.

The "issue" with Pack is trust. If you don't have a big family or friends willing to share the pack the only alternative, as proposed in the forum already, is to go strangers. You might find very nice people as you may not, you never know they will stay in the pack or if they will pay their share and that could be an unpleasant situation to those people using Bunq as daily bank.

I would suggest Bunq Couple. Like Pack but for 2 people, at the price of 11,99€ / month or 12,99

25 IBAN per person or even shared

3 cards max per person: 2 physical, 1 tap&pay

No possibility to buy new cards.

This would make a small family / couple oriented offer which I really feel missing.

What do you think?

Cheers,

Matteo

Like it. The couple/family is a very fundamental unit in society so it makes sense to address it as such with a product. There should be a clear "what happens when we separate" work flow through.

That could be solved very easily; if you cancel the couple subscription the normal premium will be activated.

Very fundamental? Mwah.... in The Netherlands 33% of households have 2 people in it.

        people in a household: 1 2906334 37.64% 2 2530437 32.77% 3 924877 11.98% 4 958746 12.42% 5+ 400393 5.19% total: 7720787

          I had a similar proposal here https://together.bunq.com/topic/joint-account_2 :

          - Person 1: premium plan gets 3 cards, 25 accounts and all the other benefit. She can decide to assign one of the 3 cards to the other person on the joint account

          - Person 2: free plan gets 1 free account + 1 joint account opened by the other person + 1 of the cards in her name but bound to the joint account

Premium cost 7,99 - Joint could be 9,99€

I think the current subscription model offers a great banking experience for a reasonable price tag. So in my opinion the available subscriptions don’t have to change, I am happy with the current pricing.

I tested the following, it works just fine: your partner creates a bunq free account and you subscribe to bunq premium. Then your partner shares his bank account with you, and you order an additional card which then is linked to the connected account.

Jan, just what I thought I would do, but I would have shared the account from the premium user‘s side. Your idea is even better, because then the account with the card is on the free user‘s name.

With 3 cards, you easily can spare one for your partner, and if really needed, you pay the onetime-fee for the 4th card (to have 2 maestro and 2 MC), so you can activate whatever you need depending on the situation.

Voila, bunq couple for the price of one bunq premium!

I'm perfectly happy with the current prise plan. My wife and I were both Premium users. And although we didn't mind the €15,98 a month (just the prise of a big pizza) we did started a bunq Pack with two strangers. I don't see any real risk in that. If a Packr don't pay, I will simple remove them and probably will find a new Packr within days. Worst case scenario is that I don't find a Packr and have to go back to Premium which is also at a fair price point.

This is what we currently do, the only problem is that the card cannot have my wife as cardholder... if bunq could fix this!

Netherlands is not the whole market for bunq. In Italy 20% are couples but if you consider 25 million families it means that 5 million families are couples which equals to 10 million people: potential market already larger than half Netherlands 😉
