  • @JohnDo#176635 My wife is the silent one. She started using Bunq as her main bank when she joined me in The Netherlands.
Today, she used the V3 app for more than just authorising iDeal and grew from bored, to annoyed to mad in lesser than a hour. Then she dropped everything and stated she’s going to leave Bunq.

    She doesn’t care about technology.

Now I need to find another bank for her.

Silent ones don’t spend time leaving feedback or threatening. “Rude” feedbacks at least give you numbers on how many customers are pissed. Silent ones just leave.

    • @Borbala-Blue-Wolf#173743 Absolutely! My reply wasn’t against you. I am also “green as much as possible”

      • @Georg-Silver-Lion#173237

But we also pay attention to people who care about the fortunes of the climate, for example.

Like having a bank powered by green energy, of course. A bank, not GreenPeace.

In my opinion, this update has been the most rushed delivery in the history of (financial) software.

How long was it? A month? Have you ever considered feedback during the beta? All of it?

The update is bad. You don't overhaul an app moving everything all at once. This has been an insane product decision.

All the following points are my personal feeback on the design choices of v3.

          Hide balance

The functionality supposed to be there to QUICKLY hide the amounts in your possessions now requires 2 taps. The button to access it is in the far upper-right corner of the UI, do you have ANY idea how big smartphones are there? Do you think people always have two hands at their disposal?

          Trees

Why in the world do I have a tree counter in my banking app if I am not a Premium SuperGreen user? I am not and I don't want to be. Maybe, I use Ecosia; maybe, I do my private contributions elsewhere; maybe, 17 €/pm is a lot for my banking.

This should be an opt-in feature.

          Cards

Not only the UI view is total nonsense -how many cards does your average user have? 🤔- but it's also broken.

While exploring the beta I was suggested to create a Travel Card despite having one already. I can't remove it. (The web app tells me the card is frozen.)

The release (stable?) version doesn't show the online cards anymore. I went to ( + ) → Virtual Cards and I activated them again. Surprise-surprise, I now have my old cards and a new one. Which, again, cannot be removed.

There is also no distinction anymore between virtual cards and physical ones.

The almighty, colorful, contextual + button

In the middle of everything. It bugs me so much I can't stand it but let's not be biased.

Why the "plus"? Does it give a clue of what it does?

          • In the main screen is "Explore" (this menu is a mess with tabs that don't slide?)
          • In the cards screen is (correctly) "Get an extra card" // Here plus is correct
          • In the card screen is "Actions" !!! Curious enough, the "Add your card to Apple Pay" is not in the Actions screen. Consistency?
          • In the total/account screen is "Options".

To me, it looks like a drawer. When you don't know where to place something in the UI, just put it in the drawer.
There it is! That plus means "more".

Wait! Then, in a banking app, the possible financial actions are a "secondary function"? It may be debatable but I think the old view was better designed, UX-wise.
Even admitting this "more" button is smart and the list of movements is the primary focus, do you realize the FAB is right over them?

Because of this drawer, many screens in the app are empty.

          • If you inspect a payment, the details are hidden inside an accordion leaving half of the screen dark gray.
          • The same happens in the cards view when you are a normal person and you have only 2 cards, maybe some virtuals as well.
          • If you are on the main screen, you haven't enabled the "Total" view and you only have 1 or 2 accounts, half of the screen is black.

          The "Us"

Honestly, I don't like Instagram. A company blog can make sense but not as the second functionality (main navigation entry). It should be the last.
Camera scan is by far more important and since I am your stakeholder and the "Profile" shows the pie chart of my expenses, Profile is more important than Bunq's Blog.
Here, the more button makes sense. Have you designed everything around this new Us screen?

Why "Create a Common Goal" and "Create Tribe" are so hidden? There is way, WAY, too much emphasis on that Instagram feed rather than these new customer features.

          The all-in-black

That should reflect the system color scheme. Why force your users to a total-black experience?

The toaster button in the upper corner (part 2)

This has been a workaround, admit it.

It's there in only two three screens for features not considered important. This is the definition of more button 👈🏻

My account details and membership management are important in my profile view.
Same as a privacy feature like "hide balance" that, in my opinion, should be in the force-touch menu of each account.

Thank you for reading this wall of text, if you'll do.

          • So my +1 is intended to be a kid. My wife uses online cards, those wouldn’t be included. What about IBANS? How many personal IBANs does this +1 get?
Seriously, this is a joke. We migrated everything to bunq because of the Joint account, Pack is not the answer! Why on earth should I team up with strangers for a thing as serious as my bank account?
Do you take yourself seriously? Do you think all people only use Bunq as a backup service because it’s fancy? You are a real, expensive, bank; you should start behaving as such.

            • Hello bunquers, I don’t know if anyone has incurred in this problem and found a solution.

I have another bank account with the DSS active towards my Bunq. Now, that account is below zero because of some monthly costs and I would like to even the balance. Problem is I cannot transfer money from Bunq because the money goes back, in a loop.

I would like to avoid using the ATM. Do I really need to use a friend as intermediary? I am not even sure that will work🤔

              • Congratulations man!

@Elise: I am receiving emails to join the competition but I am already a Premium user and I did activate the Switch Service few months ago already.

                • @Tim#49145 Sounds reasonable enough :-)

                  • @Sander#49141 That I don’t know for sure. Exchange rates are usually updated over a time span because are negotiated. I used Amazon a lot buying in pounds or dollars and refund was always the same amount :-)

                    • The amounts are:

                      Paid: 626£ as 699.08€ (1.11673)
                      Refund: 626£ as 698.56€ (1.11591)

                      • Hello Bunqers!

Today something “wrong” happened: on December the the 12th I paid 626 pounds with an exchange rate of 1.11673; the day after they sent a refund which I received today (the 15th) but the amount in € is lower this time. The exchange rate applied is lower.
Shouldn’t the refund apply the same rate?

                        • Hello Bunq Team,

I tried changing bank account image today and I noticed two bugs:

                          1. the picker gives you the possibility to choose an image from an icon pack; if you do, you an everlasting loading spinner

                          2. If you load a png with transparent background, it gets black. It should, ideally preserve the transparency or render it as application color. Even better, it should apply the color from the color picker that also disappear if you load an image

                          Platform: Android 8

                          • It does but there is a small problem: with the new setup a free account can have only 1 IBAN and NO card at all. You can lend one but why? I regularly use my mobile to pay but always bring the physical card as fallback if the POS doesn't support contactless. MasterCard/VISA if you want to rent a car is a must and the card must be on renter's name.

This then becomes a problem, one of the partners can't rent it.

You cannot use Bunq as main bank account if you are on the free tier. As two working people we need two premiums but I find 16€ per month a bit overpriced compared to the Pack.

                            • Dear Bunq'ers,

what's Bunq Couple? Nothing, it doesn't exist. It would be a middle tier between Premium and Pack.

                              Right now we have 7,99€ / pp × month and Premium 19,99€ / 4p × month, which places it on ~ 5€ / pp × month.

The "issue" with Pack is trust. If you don't have a big family or friends willing to share the pack the only alternative, as proposed in the forum already, is to go strangers. You might find very nice people as you may not, you never know they will stay in the pack or if they will pay their share and that could be an unpleasant situation to those people using Bunq as daily bank.

I would suggest Bunq Couple. Like Pack but for 2 people, at the price of 11,99€ / month or 12,99

25 IBAN per person or even shared

                              3 cards max per person: 2 physical, 1 tap&pay

No possibility to buy new cards.

This would make a small family / couple oriented offer which I really feel missing.

                              What do you think?

                              Cheers,

                              Matteo
