• Can we please stop all these one line topics?

Hey guys (and girls),

I’m sorry to be so brutally, but can we please stop creating these one line topics on Together? Most topics from the past few days are topics that exist out of questions that are introduced by just one line.

For example:
“I didn’t receive 10 euro’s” —> subject
“Why?” —> message

These topics make Together a huge mess. Even though I am not a moderator, I’d like to give the following advise:

  • Open a topic about community related things. Like when you think you found a bug, want to share idea’s, ask for experiences.
  • Please use the FAQ first. There are so many questions asked the past few days that are documented in the FAQ.
  • If you have questions that we as a community can’t solve, then ask the Support by making a Chat: >> Can’t find my question >> start a private chat.

Sorry, I hate to tell people what to do all think I know better, but this gigantic flood of simple questions are kind of annoying.

Thanks!

    Hi @DennisdeWit#83218

    We are indeed working around the clock to try and keep Together as clean as possible from all these one liner duplicate topics. But I have to admit, it comes down to search not working properly on Together. I really hope this gets fixed soon!

      @DennisdeWit#83218 Ik denk dat de helft van de mensen niet eens door hebben dat de tekst "stel je vraag" iets is waar je op kan tikken. Die zien een lijst met vragen, scrollen een beetje (als ze dat al doen) tikken op een vraag, zien dan dat ze kunnen tikken en taadaa er staat weer een ongerelateerde post in een bestaand topic.

        I know I am not really thinking like ‘bank of the free’ now, but I hope bunq will fix the search function and moderators can moderate some more strict afterwards. 😊

          @DennisdeWit#83233 .. and maybe DeepL instead of G Translate to better understand all this different languages that are on together.

            Flarum search has been a disappointment before unfortunately. If anyone has ideas on how to improve I'm all ears :). Sorry for the trouble; I don't like the clutter either tbh...

              @johannes#83235 Hi John,
              Yes, that would be great. Maybe it's me... but I noticed that I often find it difficult to understand a translated topic because Google makes sometimes a weird translation. Or we all could speak English.... 😉👌🏼

                @Ali#83237 Het is een flink stuk erger geworden op Together sinds de privé chat is verstopt. Waarschijnlijk kwam al deze rommel toen bij de helpdesk terecht.

                  @Ali#83237 Hi 👋 Ali!

                  Fair enough. But before Update10 it did a reasonable job. So, it seems that it all went downwards after Update10.. dramatically even.

                  I did some basic testing on forums/help on other Fintechs. They all weren't that perfect. But one of them used Google Search, and that was the only site I could find info in just one search attempt.

                  Besides search, things as a FAQ's or the ability to browse categories... would also help a lot.

                    @JohnDo#83244 Indeed, a FAQ would certainly help. Group questions and answers in topics and make the FAQ easy accessible. It would make things a lot easier for new (and even experienced) users.

                      You can literally go to Google and search "site:together.bunq.com XXX" and it will most of the time be able to find the topic you're looking for. So it's not impossible to fix search. And it definitely used to be better before.

                      Also if the UI could make it more clear for every user whether they're just asking in a public forum and are talking with other users or talking to private support, that'd be helpful. It's clear enough for me and some of the people that talk to us like we're employees even after telling them we're not are hilarious, but on the whole it could be better.

                        @Jakob#83253

                        Hmm, how more clear can it be? 🤔...

                          @JohnDo#83284 If you build something foolproof, someone will build a better idiot

                            It used to be here. Couldn’t find it a few days ago and it took me quite a while.

                              @JohnDo#83284 This strongly suggests you should ask on Together, doesn’t it?

                                @JohnDo#83284 Well, that screen is clearly designed to steer people towards asking publicly on Together, rather than entering the private support chat. "Ask on Together" is the prominent button to press. The text "Ask Privately" below it, is not even an obviously clickable thing in comparison. It might even be read by some as a clarification of the button above, that somehow asking on Together is asking "privately", who knows?

                                  @JohnDo#83284 On that screen expain clearly in a few sentences what Together is and what the support chat is for. Make both buttons equal, don‘t suggest one is better visually as they have different purposes. The big image can go away, some iconography could be enough.

                                  Is it clear enough for me right now? Yes. But apparently not for everyone. Of course I know some people just can‘t be helped, but I see some room for improvement 🙂

                                    @Jakob#83289 @vampjon#83288 Hi Jakob, Jonathan

                                    I agree with you that the large image is unnecessary and making it less clear. I definitely would change that.

                                    It is no secret that bunq wants bunqers to guide towards Together in this flow. Personally, I agree with that. Their amazing Support guides got overwhelmed with lots and lots of very basic questions you could easily find or ask on Together. So to relieve Support (so they can assist you faster and better when you need it the most) they focussed on guiding people towards Together. And let's be honest, if you ask a question on Together you most likely get an answer very fast from one of the many enthusiastic bunqers, even far outside business hours.

                                    The big problem now it that search doesn't really help you out. And as for mods we discuss on a daily basis with bunq how we think we can improve the Together experience. And of course, all your ideas and opinions are always heard!

                                    Finally, I personally would prefer to have Support Chat back on his old place.
