Hey bunqers 🌈
At bunq we believe that transferring money should be easy, which is why we do this via a text message or mail.
Sometimes you still need to transfer money from an international account to a bunq account. In that case you'll need a BIC or Bank Identifier Code.
This is also referred to as a SWIFT code. With the BIC code, a bank outside of the SEPA region can identify that you're trying to make an international transfer to a bunq account.
The BIC/SWIFT code for our IBANs are as follows:
- NL 🇳🇱 IBANs = BUNQNL2AXXX
- DE 🇩🇪 IBANs = BUNQDE82XXX
- FR 🇫🇷 IBANs = BUNQFRP2XXX
- ES 🇪🇸 IBANs = BUNQESM2XXX
- IE 🇮🇪 IBANs = BUNQIE22XXX
- UK 🇬🇧 IBANs = TCCLGB31XXX
What's a BIC/SWIFT code?
The SWIFT system is used to standardize international banking transactions through IBAN. Banks often use the bank identifier code (BIC) instead of the SWIFT code, however, the two are easily interchangeable.
A BIC/SWIFT code is often needed when sending international transfers. You can find out more about them here.
Where can I find bunq's BIC/SWIFT code?
You can also conveniently locate our BIC/SWIFT code directly from your Accounts screen if you ever forget it! Follow the steps below to see how:
