  • Feature request: Add non-Slice, non-bunq users as a members to a Slice Group

The step to integrate slice into the bunq app I do welcome. I even specifically asked for this in the past. I did use the slice app with two non-bunq family members on holidays to keep track of all expenses. Very very handy and hopefully we can continue to do so now from within the bunqapp. There shouldn’t be much difference in making a payment request for the final settlement to bunqers and non-bunqers. Just like making a request to anyone else? If not a missed chance in functionality. 🤷‍♀️❤️🌈👍🏻

    Now that tested it with adding a non-bunqer via a phone number I found out: it just works! A request is sent by sms and a link can even be copied to WhatsApp, mail or else. Really great!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️🌈

      @MarJamJars#106495 Yeah that is all great, but can a non bunqer manage his expances or do you have to fill it in for them? What if a non bunqer pays for something? Some people love to have control and overview.

        And i like the feature of slice, don’t get me wrong. I just want non bunqers to enjoy this too and give them the possebility to see and add payments.

          As it is a function integrated within the bunqapp it can only be reached by a bunquser I suppose?! How otherwise would you get acces to the slice group and be able to add expenses. For me not really a problem to fill in all expenses for the group. Used to do this in past for bunqers and no bunqers.

            @MarJamJars#106508 This used to be possible in the slice app. People had to register by giving there name and email or phonenumber. Nothing more. They could add bills and see what the total amount is. They could also see who payed for what and validate if the payments ware correct. I guess this will not be an option anymore.

              If a non bunquser still can use the sliceapp to add payments etc. (and still can use the slicegroup in the bunq app) it will solve the issue :)

                @Wasdroger#106516 would be great, but i guess the slice app will not continue to exist 😢

                  @Niek#106522 Thanks! Never downloaded the app since I didn't want 2 different apps. Have to find a way around this tho 🙃

                      Really great that you can add non-bunqers to a Slice Group. The only thing missing is that it only works with telephone numbers and not with email. One friend of mine doesn't have a mobile phone (yes they exist...), so I still have to use the request function and manually calculate and split the expenses.

                        bunq free WAS nice for this and I did use in such cases before...

                          Hey guys!

                          Because the separate slice app is going away in the near future, for the best experience with Slice everyone should be a bunq user.

                          The great news is that with bunq Travel Card, everyone can sign up for free! Not only do they get the full slice experience, but they can also get a great card to use while on holidays 🎉

                            @Tom#106625 Yes Tom, but though hard to understand and accept there do people exist who just don’t want to subscribe to bunq. Even in my family. Possibility to add them via email would be nice.

                              @Tom#106625 Nice and all, not everyone wants to share all there info to just use slice, why should they give a copy of there ID card and verify themself if they only want to use slice? I guess other alternatives will be used instead like WeAllPay or ‘wie betaald wat’.

                                yes agreed, this wish topic still has merit to add email as an option for slice to non bunq members. but as i understand it, adding a phone number of someone who is not with bunq to a slice group will result them getting a link by sms to pay with sofort or ideal?

                                  @DaveFlash#106702 Yes, tested that.

                                    7 days later

                                    @MarJamJars#106707 But this is only with a phone number? And has this phone number previously used or accepted a slice payment, as my error above seems to indicate that even then, it needs to have been a previous user of slice through the standalone app, which of course could’ve been a non-bunq user.

                                      @Tom#106625
                                      I don't think the Slice function has a real future then. It is really too limited when everybody needs to be a bunq member for full experience.....
                                      I would love for everybody to be a bunq member but that's just not realistic.
