Will you ever be developing a check scanning function for deposing checks? I have that function from another bank and it works well, but I am trying to use Bunq more and more. Check scanning would put me one step closer to closing the other bank accounts that I have.

    Or do you have the option/feature to scan acceptgiro's or cheques with other bank apps?

      My Bank of America app allows me to scan the front and the back of a check and then deposit that check in one of my Bank of America accounts. I do not need to go to any physical bank or to mail in the check. Without question you should have this service available in your app.

          deposit a cheque..? Are there European countries where we still use checks/cheques? Would be fun if bunq could add this to the app, so the Americans can also start using bunq!

            Depositing a cheque is no longer possible in The Netherlands. At least not for consumers. I’m afraid this won’t be possible for bunq to implement.

            I’m curious to see what bunq has to say though! 😃

              Don’t forget that bunq isn’t only operating in the Netherlands. Not sure if the Germans still use checks btw.

                Yes, it would only for people that still use/receive cheques. Do not know how many of these there are in Europe. Even Americans, that do still use them, can wire a payment in to your bank account.

                  @Hendrik-Yellow-Bear#14274 I‘m from Germany and haven’t seen a check in the last 15 years. I like the idea, but I think we should rather get rid of checks. 😊

                    @Phil#27078 You should visit a grocery store like Cora or Super-U in France. They pay with cheques a lot there.

                      While I‘ve never had to use or cash in a check myself ever, it does still happen on occasion. Friend of mine got a refund from a car rental in Germany by cheque not too long ago.

                          Bonjour je suis d’accord avec vous il manque vraiment un dépôt de chèque sur cette banque moi qui suis français les chèques sont encore très actif donc sans dépôt de chèque cette banque est moins intéressante

                            @Johanna#14278 I have this option in my Halifax (UK) app. You just enter the amount and photograph the front and back of the cheque. Simple.

                            Yes cheques are being used less nowadays but its not dead yet. Many businesses still offer cheques as the only payment option.

                            It would be a useful function to have.

                              Checks are very expensive to process.

                              And specially if checks are not guaranteed anymore, like the good old eurocheques.

                                Still using checks (unfortunately) in Ireland. I can't get rid of my Irish bank account as still receive the occasional check and need somewhere to cash it. I believe the Starling UK app allows you to scan in checks as well

                                  Ik zou een cheque functie enorm waarderen! Ik krijg van Amerika corona steun in de vorm van cheques. Helaas kan ik deze papiertjes nergens in Nederland verzilveren en omdat ik geen Amerikaans adres heb kan ik ook online geen Amerikaans bank account aanvragen. Als Bunq zo'n cheque scan functie zou kunnen implementeren zou dit vele anderen in soortgelijke situatie helpen.

                                      Just received a nice cheque from the french tax finance publiques. I only have a bunq account. What do I do?
