  • [REPORTED] Wrong name/logo for transactions

bunq seems to interpret merchant names now. „AMAZON EU SARL“ became „Amazon“, that‘s OK. But „PP*1234CODE“ (PayPay authorization) results in „Apple“, that‘s totally wrong.

The descriptions fortunately haven‘t changed.

In my opinion this feature isn‘t necessary at all. What do you think about it?

I think a short “spelling” name is better than something cryptographic. But there should be a possibility to mark a name as wrong (like in your case)

Nice. Hopefully this also brings some changes to merchant icons, including the ability to somehow add the missing icons.
Looking forward to bunq update 12 😊

@Pink-Rhino-Element#119562 That would be awesome! But I now indeed have the same problem. The Paypal thing is now called Apple, and the Paypal icon is gone, and Apple doesn't have an icon yet..... 😡

Would be good if you could turn this on or off. Because if you pay at different paypal merchants, you now cant see which merchant it is right away.

Sander changed the title to Wrong Merchant names and/or icons.

For me every generic PayPal transaction changed to Apple too.
Funny to see sending my friends money is labelled as Apple.

@Icereak#119578 yeah, I would also prefer the description to remain untouched. 🙈

I just heard from support that it will be fixed in a couple of days.

Starting to find some irregularities here, too. Ralph Lauren is definitely not Kaufland.

And, of course, Aldi is not just Aldi - it's "Aldi Nord" (Netherlands, France, Spain...) or "Aldi Sued" (Austria, Switzerland, Italy, UK...) respectively, with completely different icons. Now Aldi Sued payments are tagged with the Aldi Nord icon - clearly someone did not do his/her research here.

Btw, an option to upload new icons would be much appreciated.

Aldi Nord is not named "Aldi Nord". Its called just "Aldi". Just Aldi Süd has the "Süd" in it's name.

Transactions made in my employer's (one of the big banks in NL) restaurant are marked as ATM. While I understand where that logic comes from, the transaction is not an ATM withdrawal so I don't see why should it get marked as that.

This new feature is really more of a bother than of help. I do understand the good intention but I so badly want to be able to switch it off!

I also dislike the fact that the supposedly better readable names kind of reduce clarity. "ATM" doesn't tell me at which bank I made my withdrawal (I know I can look it up in the details screen, but I don't want to have to do it) and "REWE" doesn't tell me at which of the about 5 REWE supermarkets in my area I paid.

same here, my recurring patreon payment is now called pantreon.com and the logo has gone:

                              like so:

Seems like it’s a fault in the systems of bunq that identifies at multiple locations/brands/retailers/payments introduced by bunq in preparation for bunq Update 12 and the new Insights function. The category however is correct. ;_)

Here too, most of my PayPal payments have been classified as Apple payments. Really messing up Insights as well as online PayPal purchases show up as subscriptions...

@Delano#121093 looks like this bug is fixed 👍🏻

@Bastiaan#121173 Indeed they are correct now 😃 yay
