• Bancontact / giropay on payment page

Hi all,


When sending a request it’s very easy for Ducthies to pay with iDeal. However, for people from eg. Germany and Belgium I would imagine it could be ideal to have the possibility to pay with the local alternatives to iDeal such as Bancontact, giropay or whatever comparable thing might be used commonly.


They now can of course use Sofort for this, but in my opinion it would be even more convenient to use something they use as often as we Dutchies use iDeal.


I’d love to hear how this sounds to non-Dutch bunqers, would that be handy?

    For sure it would make life - and recharging the account - easier using Bancontact (in BE).

      I am Belgian and a huge believer in bunq. I really want to switch to bunq completely and leave my main bank for my payments.


      Unfortunately, Bancontact is still widely used in Belgium, and for some online services or in some shops, it is the only alternative...


      Without Bancontact, bunq will never be able to replace te classic banks for most people. I have many friends that do not want to switch to bunq just because of this.


      Is implementing Bancontact for Belgian clients a realistic option?

        Hey there,


        It's hard to say wether this will we implemented or when.

        Keep in mind that we're not yet officially launched in Belgium as well.


        That doesn't mean we're not checking it out, we'd love to provide more and better options to pay using bunq 🌈

          Oh I didn’t even know bunq isn’t officially released in Belgium yet! :o But I have hope for the future, and with or without Bancontact, I will keep telling all of my friends how awesome bunq is. 💪🌈🌈
