As far as I know none of the 9€ for SuperGreen go into trees. Trees are funded by the money bunq gets from transactions done with the debit/credit cards. That 24 trees is probably just an estimated average.

SuperGreen is basically a premium tier including a fancy metal card with the bonus of planting trees off of it.

    @mangerlahn#157368 Yes. As far as I know, the "interchange fees" of the (credit)card payments are used for the trees.

    This is how Interchange fees work:
    (Replace "Rewards points" with trees, and Fiona's bank is bunq 🙂👍)


    The fees mentioned in this image are just an example, I don't know what the real fees are.

        @Bastiaan#157381 Allright, for Meastro payments this fee is a lot lower, though. About €0,06 per transaction. I think the intermediary company takes a cut from this as well. I really think it would be transparant for bunq to display the amount that is donated on the user's behalf.

          Derzeit werden ja weiterhin nur 1 Baum gepflanzt.

          Wann kommt also ein Update, sodass sich aus dieser Sicht der Einsatz der Karte wieder doppelt lohnt?

            The change will roll out in the next few weeks (hard to give an exact date as there are a fair few moving parts to it)

            But we will be sure to backdate it, so any transactions you do on your metal card in the meantime will get the extra trees once we ship the change.

                Hallo bunq, es sind schon mehr als 2 Wochen vorhanden! Wann bekommen wir unsere Bäume wieder zurück?

                  This fix is now live, and we've already gone ahead and planted any trees you missed out on in the meantime.

                  From now on, you will plant 2 trees per €100 with your metal card, until March 2021!

                      @Heiko-Hartwig#163730 Bei mir scheint es zu funktionieren, zumindest wurden mir bei einer Bargeld-Abhebung vor ein paar Tagen 2 Bäume angezeigt.

                      Muss aber gestehen meine Bäume vor und nachher nicht gezählt zu haben, ob dann auch wirklich 2 hinzugezählt wurden. Wie äußert es sich denn bei dir?

                      Wenn ich das richtig verstanden habe, hat bunq das ja jetzt etwas komisch re-implementiert. Je nachdem, mit welchem Typ Karte (also Green Card oder nicht) man die 100€-Grenze überschreitet, bekommt man 1 oder 2 Bäume. Also 99€ mit der Green Card und danach 1€ mit Maestro wäre nur 1 Baum, wobei 99€ mit Maestro und dann 1€ mit der Green Card ergäbe 2 Bäume.

                        Ich nutze nur die Green Card. Gefühlt dauert es ewig. Und dazu dann der Text:

                            @Lui#156206 If you are going to get Supergreen, you might as well get the Green Card. The cost for the card is included in the 16.99 euro a month.

                              @Dyouth27#163751 Correct. But you can’t cancel the SuperGreen subscription without paying a penalty if you get the metal card.

                              And why would I need a metal card? After thinking about the metal card. It’s kind of useless.
