Hi πŸ‘‹πŸΌ my fellow bunq Fans!

How is everyone doing these days? I'm fine, but I wanted to share a cool idea πŸ’‘ with you: Start a Family Forest!

Sounds cool John, but what is it?

I think it would be cool if you could see the total number of trees of a group op bunq users. Of course next to be able to still see your own forest of course.

Hmm, I get the picture.. but why?

My lovely wife and I are a team in life! So, sharing is a key word in our home 🏑 .
One of my favourite features is to be able so share accounts so easy! So, my wife and I set up a whole system with a bunch of bank accounts that we mostly share with each other. We love the Premium SuperGreen where you plant trees and help Mother Nature a hand. So, when it comes to planting tree and reducing CO2 we also love to form a team here. Sharing a forest to see the total trees in our household would be a logical step.

I was triggered by the fact that my wife was smiling when she received a notification that here forest was growing. Although that my wife also has her own Metal Card πŸ’³ - Founders Edition, she didn't use it that much because I'm the one that does most of our online shopping for instance. I think I would send out a positive vibe to her to see that we do much more then only the trees she planted.

Does it only applies on families then?

No! In my book, a family isn't defined solely by having the same bloodline ;). A family is what you define as one!

Wow awesome John!

Thank you. Love to hear your comments, ideas or just to see your High Five πŸ‘πŸΌ You guys rock!

Knowing you, you probably made a mock-up

Ow guys, you know me so well!... yes of course I made a mock-up. Here you go!

John Do changed the title to Start Your Own Family Forest!.

      That is one fun suggestion!

Het probleem wat je beschrijft zou eenvoudig op te lossen zijn door af te stappen van accounts per persoon en net zo als bij elke andere bank gemeenschappelijke accounts te introduceren. 1 account, 1x betalen, 1x alles.

Maybe not call it family, but team or something, but I think itβ€˜s a nice concept.

@Jakob-Y#161249 Fair point :)... here are some ideas. Or maybe you can simply give it your own name! #skyisthelimit

What's the point of all this really?

Bunq says they plant a tree in our name. But I'm sure they won't actually name the forest after us. I'm not against planting trees but I'm starting to think the whole purpose of the green card has been defeated since everyone without the green card can also plant trees. Bunq should have made the green card with both maestro and MasterCard 2 in one card. So people wouldn't be asking to sallow all cards to plant trees. And also, the green card should have been painted in green color, preferably light green colour. Being white makes it seem as if it copied the apple card. I'm just saying....right now it's more a white card. Not green card.

@Dyouth27#161275 What's the point of all this really?

See my post πŸ˜‰. In my case: an easy and fun way to see how much trees 🌲 my wife and I planted ... together (instead of seeing just my our own trees)

There is really no point of all this. Do we still talk about banking and useful features or gamification?

As cool as this idea may sound, I can imagine that this would be very hard to implement since the other party/parties essentially have to share their spending data (and not just that of shared accounts) so others can see how much trees they get planted. Besides the privacy aspect, I think there are other (more useful) features the bunq team should get to first.
I really value your creativity and nice images but I do not back this idea.

@lupes#161287 I can imagine that this would be very hard to implement since the other party/parties essentially have to share their spending data

Hi πŸ‘‹πŸΌ Luuk, thanks for you feedback. I think it is relative easy to build, because bunq knows per user the total trees 🌳 they have. My idea πŸ’‘ is simply to show the totaal of all trees of a defined group. That’s it. So when it comes to privacy, I think there is nothing to worry about.

@lupes#161287 I think there are other (more useful) features the bunq team should get to first.

Well, I hope bunq will finally fix a serie of bugs πŸ› first I have reported ages ago πŸ˜‰...

@lupes#161287 As soon as there is a thirt party, psd2 will be in place I think πŸ€”
                          So you’re correct it’s a privacy issue.

@Johan#161314 see my comment above. I think the way I propose it... there isn't a privacy issue. There is zero need to share transactions.

                              @JohnDo#161332

"Access to the payment account by third parties" is the psd2 statement and therefore pretty clear i think so.

@Johan#161337 I don’t get your point. This is about setting up a connection between two or more bunqers... just as you would with bunqs Connect function... but in this case only the total amount of trees are exchanged. That it. Not a single transaction need to be shared in any way. So, don’t see how this is PSD2 relevant.

@JohnDo#161332 A small note to add: even thou you don't need to share transactions, if you share the amount of trees planted you can derive the transaction amount (as X trees planted per 100 EUR). This would be obviously an opt-in service so participants would be aware of that.

@igoramadas#161343 Sure. It goes whiteout saying that every member has to accept such request of course. So definitely it will be an opt-in πŸ‘ #privacyfirst.

@Andys#161283 Well, for my personally banking stuff used to be a necessary evil πŸ‘Ώ.... but since I have bunq it has become a fun and easy way to do al my banking stuff. So, I think there is nothing wrong with spicing it a bit up :)... At least when stays within boundaries πŸ˜‰...

There are already plenty of boring bank out there ;)
