Setting up and using Apple Pay

After making some improvements in the app, Apple Pay is easier to set up than ever 🙌. Now you can add your physical card or Virtual Credit Card to Apple Pay directly from the Cards tab in your bunq app!

Check out the steps below to see how:

Go to 🏠 Home
Select your bunq card
Go to ⚙️ Settings
Tap on "Set up Apple Pay"

When can I add my card to Apple Pay?

You can add your physical card to Apply Pay even before it arrives to your front door. All you need to do is to follow these simple steps: Go to Home > Click on Cards > Select the card you want to add > Click on "Add your card to Apple Pay".
Once created, you can add your Virtual Credit Card to Apple Pay right away.

Keep in mind that only cards ordered by bunquers residing in Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Belgium, Ireland, the Netherlands, Portugal, Austria or the UK will be able to add their bunq cards to Apple Pay.

Also, keep in mind that as of September 21, 2023, you’ll get notified once you add or remove your card in your Apple Pay, Google Pay and Fitbit.

iPhone:

Open the Wallet app.
Tap the "+" sign in the upper-right corner.
Enter your card's security code to add your credit or debit card affiliated with your iTunes account. Or, select “Add a different card,” and use your iPhone camera to scan the card information.

Apple Watch:

Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
Select “Wallet & Apple Pay,”
Then tap “Add Credit or Debit Card.”

iPad:

Go to Settings.
Open “Wallet & Apple Pay,”
Select “Add Credit or Debit Card.”

MacBook Pro with Touch ID:

Go to System Preferences.
Select “Wallet & Apple Pay,”
Select “Add Card.”

Adding Apple Pay as a minor

If you're a minor and trying to activate Apple Pay, please be aware that you must be a minimum age in order to do so. The minimum age set for all countries where Apple Pay operates is 13 years.
