I think it'll be accepted by almost the speed of light by the major banks - and bunq of course. Because the tech-savvy/young are moving fast to the banks who are offering this, often even free banks like Revolut, N26, or Monese. Don't forget that the tech-savvy and young are where the future money is and people tend to stay at their bank once they're settled and happy with that bank.
They simply don't have a choice, specifically in a time where people don't feel much loyalty to their regular old greedy banks who were responsible for much of the 2008 recession and other criminal disasters and sympathy is with the tech startups.
