• Exploring the amazing bunq V3? Let us know how we can make it even better!

I’ve posted a more extensive comment earlier to which I would like to add a small opinion after using the app for a little longer:

I find that some of the menus required a few too many clicks. For example, if I want to see my cardnumber I have to click on the me tab, the cards, my card and then the number and then back a few times to get back.

Something that was nice about the old app was that the bottom menu often stayed fixed in place. With the new version the menu disappears, which makes it a bit more effort to return to the basic screens.

Hopefully bunq can look into this :)

    Hoi!
Patience ✌️👍

@CepatLari#172157 You jumped the gun on me 😁. V3 has definitely some flaws. But overall I think they need to iron out the bad stuff and atleast I can get used to it.
And I must say, I like the simplicity of the app, with some huge not so much simplicity. And a huge win for me is that I don't have to switch from accounts anymore to access my business accounts 💪🏼

@Punt#172144 I wouldn‘t say it‘s completely forgotten, but it would improve their standing.
Before this here blew up, they deleted EVERY critical comment. Even on Reddit.

And I don‘t understand, why you had to take such a perfect V2 und destroy it like that. I think a rollback would be the best.

          • Waarom alleen Dark mode?

We want a honest reaction from Bunq! It‘s time for it! No reaction is also a reaction, but not a good one.

We are paying customers! We want to know, what you are planing to reverse this V3-mistake. We want to get also in the future an excellent banking-service. We have to trust you! We are paying for it!

Jammer

@Siebjee#172166 Precies! Be Positive✌️ Dacht dat de echte Bunqers relaxed waren. Maar valt toch wel tegen😱

The app is a huge disappointment and I am considering cancelling my account, here's why:"
                  - The app doesn't have lightmode and doesn't follow iOS system settings for dark mode apps.
                  - The help functionality seems to be missing.
                  - My account images are gone. Thanks for having to retrain my muscle memory.
                  - Clutter. I don't care about trees planted, I don't even use the green stuff subscription.
                  - App is a mess. Having to click 5 times to get anywhere is a pain.

Just admit your mistakes and get v2 back while you still can.

I don’t like the dark mode either.
The new interface is way less intuitive. It is centered on « bunq accomplishments » rather than our banking data. Any task seems difficult, from seeing our money to sending or receiving a payment. There is a lot of useless information like « time saved » which would stay the same since it’s considering events that I almost never do.
It is hard to access to the data of the cards. It is hard to make the difference between each card.
I subscribed to bunq for its easy and intuitive interface. But now there is no point of paying such a high fee if it has lost its main quality.

@alovchin91#170937 Pretty much everything I thought at the unveiling. I hoped it was still a work in progress or a preview, rather than the definitive version at all. This morning I took a moment to look up how to disable automatic app updates on my iPhone just in case my still V2.x app would update to V3...

Moreover: the trees part of the app is more like activism to me, like it’s forced upon us users. And the “you’ve saved this much with our app” counter thing on the home screen is almost a resemblance of arrogance; it’s like being told every time I’d open the app I’m supposed to be glad to be a bunq customer. Almost as if those few euros in savings are trying to compensate for the horrible new UX design 😂

I’ve been with you for many Updates, but this one is a big dealbreaker for me. I’m sorry.

No. This is a BIG NO GO. Public beta was all a facade like all other times. Please just listen to us, rollback the app. Go back to the drawing board. There probably a lot of users (including me) who would be happy to give honest feedback. But when given, it should be listened to!

It might not be what you want to hear but for a company that says it has a community it listens to, you should have the courage to revert back to V2 and listen to your customer feedback which is overwhelmingly negative for v3.

                              Good intentions, terrible execution

I do believe Bunq started the redesign with the best intentions in mind, but somewhere along the way you guys lost sight of what's crucial for ALL your users; an app that's awesome at banking.

As mentioned by many already, the app not only breaks many UX best practises; it also makes terrible judgement calls on what to prioritise. For example, the fact that making a payment is now three layers deep in the app sums it all up for me. You're a banking app; make sure you are great at banking first and foremost. At all times!

My suggestion: please roll back v2, take in all the valuable feedback and start working on v4. Don't risk losing the fanbase you have built.

                                • Ich möchte die Listenansicht und die individuelle Gestaltungsmöglichkeit, für meine Konten, aus V2 zurück da diese übersichtlicher ist.

                                -

                                  @bunq#170787

In my opinion, this update has been the most rushed delivery in the history of (financial) software.

How long was it? A month? Have you ever considered feedback during the beta? All of it?

The update is bad. You don't overhaul an app moving everything all at once. This has been an insane product decision.

All the following points are my personal feeback on the design choices of v3.

                                  Hide balance

The functionality supposed to be there to QUICKLY hide the amounts in your possessions now requires 2 taps. The button to access it is in the far upper-right corner of the UI, do you have ANY idea how big smartphones are there? Do you think people always have two hands at their disposal?

                                  Trees

Why in the world do I have a tree counter in my banking app if I am not a Premium SuperGreen user? I am not and I don't want to be. Maybe, I use Ecosia; maybe, I do my private contributions elsewhere; maybe, 17 €/pm is a lot for my banking.

This should be an opt-in feature.

                                  Cards

Not only the UI view is total nonsense -how many cards does your average user have? 🤔- but it's also broken.

While exploring the beta I was suggested to create a Travel Card despite having one already. I can't remove it. (The web app tells me the card is frozen.)

The release (stable?) version doesn't show the online cards anymore. I went to ( + ) → Virtual Cards and I activated them again. Surprise-surprise, I now have my old cards and a new one. Which, again, cannot be removed.

There is also no distinction anymore between virtual cards and physical ones.

The almighty, colorful, contextual + button

In the middle of everything. It bugs me so much I can't stand it but let's not be biased.

Why the "plus"? Does it give a clue of what it does?

                                  • In the main screen is "Explore" (this menu is a mess with tabs that don't slide?)
                                  • In the cards screen is (correctly) "Get an extra card" // Here plus is correct
                                  • In the card screen is "Actions" !!! Curious enough, the "Add your card to Apple Pay" is not in the Actions screen. Consistency?
                                  • In the total/account screen is "Options".

To me, it looks like a drawer. When you don't know where to place something in the UI, just put it in the drawer.
There it is! That plus means "more".

Wait! Then, in a banking app, the possible financial actions are a "secondary function"? It may be debatable but I think the old view was better designed, UX-wise.
Even admitting this "more" button is smart and the list of movements is the primary focus, do you realize the FAB is right over them?

Because of this drawer, many screens in the app are empty.

                                  • If you inspect a payment, the details are hidden inside an accordion leaving half of the screen dark gray.
                                  • The same happens in the cards view when you are a normal person and you have only 2 cards, maybe some virtuals as well.
                                  • If you are on the main screen, you haven't enabled the "Total" view and you only have 1 or 2 accounts, half of the screen is black.

                                  The "Us"

Honestly, I don't like Instagram. A company blog can make sense but not as the second functionality (main navigation entry). It should be the last.
Camera scan is by far more important and since I am your stakeholder and the "Profile" shows the pie chart of my expenses, Profile is more important than Bunq's Blog.
Here, the more button makes sense. Have you designed everything around this new Us screen?

Why "Create a Common Goal" and "Create Tribe" are so hidden? There is way, WAY, too much emphasis on that Instagram feed rather than these new customer features.

                                  The all-in-black

That should reflect the system color scheme. Why force your users to a total-black experience?

The toaster button in the upper corner (part 2)

This has been a workaround, admit it.

It's there in only two three screens for features not considered important. This is the definition of more button 👈🏻

My account details and membership management are important in my profile view.
Same as a privacy feature like "hide balance" that, in my opinion, should be in the force-touch menu of each account.

Thank you for reading this wall of text, if you'll do.

Here bunq user from the first day

Sorry what a big mess this update is!
The things removed totally outway the possitive things.

                                    In general:
                                    - all those stats are non relevant for me.
                                    - Trying to simplify with one button creates just even more taps.
                                    - And all the bugs in this version. Holy moly!!!

It feels almost like you are treating us like 5 year old kids that don’t know how to make a bank transfer or organize finances.

You have pushed it way too far.

@Menbren#172203 Totally agree. Maybe they forgot to even apply UX methods to get the best possible out of the app. I also think that the closed beta should have lasted longer to fix all bugs and errors. This should have made the app a lot better. Now the users are the beta testers. I thought this is only done in the game industry :-D

By the way, did I sign up with Greenpeace or a bank?
