I'm really afraid I'll never see again my so much loved bunq (V2) app. I was not just customer but a fan of bunq. But honestly my banking app turned with the V3 update into a beta state social networking app which is no more usable for banking.

I cannot express how disappointed I am from bunq. It is ok to make an error, but please recognize V3 as an error and treat it as such.

I really really hope you get back to V2 (or something similar), otherwise I'm pretty sure you will lose many fans and customers :-(

I switched to Bunq from abn amro couple of days back. I was actually loving the old app. So much that I was very happy with my decision. I received an email today about v3, decided to update my app. Little did I know that it’s a huge mess. Here’s my first impression after using app for a few minutes.

The big + is a big mess. Actions are unclear. Which button tab has what, I still don’t know. It is confusing. I want to do banking, please don’t feed other stuff into a banking app. Create another app or container for social stuff or information.
US tab is unnecessary.
I wanted to explore bunq.me links, it took me 5 minutes to find it. Obvious location was to go in my profile / account. Hiding it under + button isn’t intuitive.
Please bring back the special card tab. I loved it so much.
Please keep it minimal. We care about banking and the awesome tech Bunq used to deliver.
Allow users to hide the tree count and other numbers and everything that is non-essential for banking.

Hope you will work on this apart from bugs. Just want to make the bunq app better. Hope you take my feedback in a positive manner.

Hope you will revert back to v2 or allow us to install a separate app. Can’t just use this app :-(

I have enabled a travel card on my Apple Wallet as the app suggested me. When I clicked “order physical card”, I expected the app to show me information regarding the price but it immediately displayed a message indicating it would be sent to me.

Now I see my main account has been charged 9 euros(???) without any confirmation and the travel card disappeared from the list.

I did not confirm I wanted to pay for the card, I already pay for the subscription and 9 euros for a replacement is quite a lot.

I like the excitement and really want to like the update, but the UX just doesn’t make a lot of sense in a lot of areas.

Having camera as a separate tab is quite handy and having personal/business merged into one overview is a very useful feature to me. That’s about where it ends however.

Long pressing on the Profile button to switch between accounts is extremely unclear on iOS, as this is not a standard UX option on iOS. I’m not sure if I would have found it without reading other feedback about this update.

Having a + button at the bottom which does very different things depending on the tab you are doesn’t really make sense. A “+” icon indicates adding something new. A lot of the options when you tap this button aren’t actually adding or creating things, it’s options such as accessing the support center. As a result, this button lacks intuition.

The Instagram tab uses a lot of space without clear benefit, whilst most of the useful features are buried deep within menus. I actually quite like the idea of showing bunq news, but I wish it was somewhere less prominent. I also wish it was possible to read the full text of the update without being redirected to Instagram.

It’s pretty sad to see what has happened to the app, but I think it’s fixable if you go back to the drawing board, look at mobile app UX guidelines and also listen to user feedback.

Super disappointed. I can’t find anything. It all looked so good from the screenshots and promises.

The plus button feels out of context, and it changing behavior on each tab is weird.
There’s certain elements that give touch feedback, but then don’t actually do anything, which I’m not sure is a bug with something actually not working or just weird UX.
I’d also like to mention that by putting “trees planted: 0” front and center, I’m feeling very confronted, especially since I’ve donated to #teamtrees, which in comparison is cheaper as well. Please hide this if I don’t have a green card, or allow us to add #teamtree records :(

Nothing wrong with revamping things and attempting to innovate, but oof.

möchtet ihr die Kunden vergraulen ? Dann seid ihr auf dem richtigen Weg. Bunq war meine Lieblings App. Aber das was ihr mit v3 gemacht habt ist ja schrecklich.
Ich möchte kein Instagram in meiner Bank App haben.
Die App ist einfach nur schlecht und voller Fehler. Ändert das ab am besten wieder zu V2
Für das möchte ich kein Geld bezahlen.

Ich kann mich der Kritik nur anschließen. Die alte App war perfekt: modern, gut zu bedienen und meha chic. Nichts was eine Überarbeitung nötig gehabt hätte. Meiner Meinung nach wäre V2 selbst in 2-3 Jahren immer noch bahnbrechend und DIE vorzeige banking app gewesen... schade. Das + ist verwirrend und ich habe immer noch nicht herausgefunden wo ich die Nummern der Online Karten finde. Meine Freundin ist UX Designerin und ich habe ihr v3 auf einem anderen Gerät (iPad) gezeigt: Sie war entsetzt! Ich update so lange nicht auf v3 und bleibe bei v2 wie es nur geht.

Some things that I stumbled upon till now:

Total amount is still based on selected accounts in V2. Where can I amend this in V3?

I have deleted te auto savings account, but the money saved circle still gives an amount, how can I have the amount be deleted? I hate negative numbers.

When I want to switch my card to a different account, the screen does not completely take over the order of appearance, the colors and the icons from the accounts on the Me tab.

I only see dual pin on the online cards, not on the physical cards anymore. Where can this be found? Also, what is the benefit of a dual pin for an inline cards?

Are the other online cards still in place as these have been linked to account for recurring online payments.

The discover page via the plus button is looking crowded. I already have premium, I already have the Travel Card and I already have a metal card. Would love to see that items you already have disappears from this overview. This might be useful for new people who just started bunq, but for me it feels like advertising.

What’s also confusing is the text on the discover page: Make your life easy with a premium account. I thought I don’t need this, but it appears also to be the way to open an extra private account. Can be more clear to me: Open a personal account. Premium can be mentioned on the page after pressing.

For sure I will come across other things that are new, but for now, these are my questions and thoughts.

I followed the wizard to connect my business account to my personal to have all accounts in one overview. Should have never done that and there is no way to revert this?!
Please make it possible to also undo the so called “Save time with all your accounts in one easy overview”. I like my personal and business account in separate overviews and separate logins.

Mill & Mist Same for me. I've enjoyed the four and a half years I've been with bunq. I've actually been with bunq since the very beginning when bunq became available to the public. All updates so far have been great improvements. But today's update is just terrible.

Unfortunately, the update is not the only thing that's terrible today. Lots of other bunq users have provided helpful, insightful, constructive feedback over the last few months. Users who love bunq, who are involved with the community, users who want bunq to succeed. The feedback comes from deep within their hearts, out of a place of love.

Bunq is continually saying they value all feedback, but how can this be true? They have completely ignored almost all of the feedback that has been given, and even removed it from public view! Even problems that were in plain sight during the Update 14 livestream are still present and not corrected! Meanwhile, the only comments that bunq responds to are those that pretend that everything is fine and nothing is wrong.

I loved the bunq that actually made banking easy, and took every user seriously. I loved the bunq that made a great banking service along with a terrific banking app. I don't love the bunq of today that makes an extremely messy UI and presents it as a major improvement. I don't love the bunq of today that shuns all feedback of their loyal users. Unfortunately, this means goodbye for me.

Dick Oh will they? I’m afraid it will stay like this. Might also have to look around for alternative options. I was very satisfied with all the neat features but this is too experimental for something as serious as hard earned money.

Bunq is closing all the threads where customers are complaining in. Please take our feedback seriously. V3 is a big mistake.
