pl0x they can't cause it's not a credit card it's a debit card
Of course that's possible. Hotels, car rentals, etc. definitely not an issue with bunq's credit cards. The only difference is that you need to have enough to pay for the deposit yourself and it doesn't come out of nowhere. So basically a deposit is actually a deposit for you.
You can't buy things you might not have the money for right now but will have by the time you get paid at the end of the month sop can can pay in full.
That's indeed not possible. You can only buy things that you have the money for right now. Similar to how secured credit cards work everywhere else in the world.
Calling these things "credit cards" is not helpful it is confusing. to people who come from countries where credit cards are a thing. or go to countries where they are as thing (most countries)
There's indeed an argument to be made to revamp the naming. But calling them debit cards could also be confusing, as they don't work like debit cards for merchants and, at least officially, they're not debit cards. Also the money that you spend over the month is actually remaining in your account at bunq and collecting interest until the 1st of the next month. You wouldn't expect that to happen with a debit card, and people could be confused as to why they're getting more interest than the display account balance warrants.
