I can't accept a payment request. When I click accpet it always shows me a premium account advertisement.

Poramapa Could you explain a bit more? Is this a payment request send to you by a friend or is it a request as the result of a direct debit ("automatische incasso" in Dutch)?

For those reading along: https://www.bunq.com/nl/benefits lists some differences between accounts, but ironically there is no reference to direct debit payments requests or payment requests send by other bunq users.

Can you confirm J-L's point that you have a travel-card membership? And what kind of request it was?

Klinkt alsof je een travel-card lidmaatschap hebt. Dit is een kaart en geen bankrekening. Bij premium krijg je volledige bankrekeningen.

I have a travel card membership and the payment request is a direct debit from a health insurance company.

Not just the direct debit, I also cannot transfer money to other bank account as well.

Poramapa With a Travel membership there is no bank account, so direct debits and bank transfers indeed will not work. If that comes as a surprise to you, maybe you have used an old membership type until now. These have been removed, though. Basically if you want to continue using bunq as a regular bank account, you would have to switch to at least the Premium membership. You can still cash out all your money to another bank account with the Travel membership, though, in case you're thinking about switching.

Poramapa If you really-really want to stay below those 8 euros a month you can do this or if you a looking for a solution to get part of your funds moved.

Recipe 1:

Your Travel Card --> Apple Pay Top up --> Revolut --> Bank Transfer IBAN to anywhere.

Recipe 2:

Your Travel Card--> Revolut Credit Card top up --> Bank Transfer IBAN to anywhere.

Recipe 3:

Contact Insurance Company and inform if you can provide your credit card details to them.

Purchase bunq premium subscription or join a bunq pack (€5).

The first 2 recipes require you to contact your Health Insurance Company to see if they support bank transfer.
Please note that Revolut has a non-Dutch IBAN.

P.s. start with a small amount as a test case!

FYI: Jakob 's point of Cashing out is also possible, but I am assuming that is for the whole amount. Is that correct Jakob-Y? Does it also terminate the Travel Card subscription if you do that? Is is it just a method of getting all the funds out and you can add new funds at a later date?

Yes that's the case. You are able cash out your whole balance to another bank accounts of yours, but that doesn't terminate your membership or your card. Theoretically you could just add money again after that, there's no specific time limit.

That restriction is probably just in place so that it's not feasible to pay your bills / rent by using the "cash-out" function for general bank transfers. But if you cash-out to your own account at another bank you can always send part of the money back.
