@Ali#215919 Hoi Ali,

    Hi 👋🏼 all,

I think bunq hasn’t changed regarding their vision since they launched their first App. If anything, it has become more visible since V3. And I’m loving it.

But still, I can understand not everybody loves or needs a banking experience that focuses on making the world a better place in various ways. And that’s perfectly fine. Fortunately, there is lots to choose from in the world of banking. So, you can always find a bank that fits your needs better. But if you want to stick around to see if bunq becomes a traditional bank, that’s fine too....... hope you are a very patient person 😉

You can say a lot about bunq, but definitely not that bunq doesn’t listen. There are countless examples were bunq introduced or altered a feature simply because users asked for it! And that is one of the many many things I love about bunq, the whole “we are in it together” vibe.

What kind of bugs me are some fellow users that always magically seems to know what the majority wants. The majority is everywhere and not only on social media. There are lots of users that share their feedback more privately. And bunq also gets insights from app data, support calls, market research, and surveys... to name a few ;)

At the end it’s all about trust. And I trust bunq to make every decision with my best interest at heart ❤️.

I’m proud to be part of the bunq community. And I think bunq is on the right track 🚀... and also Update16 was a stunning update.. again. It always amazed me how bunq is able to launch so many cool stuff in such a short period! Job well done dear bunq team!

@krmkrx#215924 Well, the whole social thing is opt-in in the first place, and you can always opt-out. So... wish granted? As for what the wishes of the many are, I‘m sure bunq has a lot of channels on that they‘re listening. People actively participating in the community forum being one part of that.

@Jakob-Y#215944 Opt-out in the sense of not having 2 useless tabs in the banking app consuming space. I’d be happy to have much more customisation so that I can build my own banking app. Putting buttons, functions and shortcuts right where I need them. As I am not using any of the social functions, 80% of the space in the app is wasted.

@krmkrx#215946 I understand the wish for an opt-out... but that feels a bit like asking Netflix to have an opt-out for series. The social and environmental aspect are part of bunqs identity. I think they never would put that behind a button to hide them. Also not something most users want I think.

@Bastiaan#215975 I don’t want to become a developer myself just to have a decent banking experience, sorry. This can’t be a serious suggestion. 😉

@krmkrx#215977 You want a decent banking experience! Then you are in luck! bunq provides the best banking experience! Of let me know which bank does a way better job and also have the same features.

Actually, for Germany speaking, there is no similar experience when it comes to features, especially the easy budgeting with sub-accounts, this is awesome and unique to bunq indeed! But me and a lot of others still wish to just tone down the social and „green“ functionalities a bit. Let me replace the Friends tab with the Events overview for example! It used to be so easy to be up to date about what’s happening on ALL accounts with just one glance. Just an example of how everyone could fine-tune their banking experience exactly how needed, by placing what’s most important to me where I need it. Just an idea!

I must say I actually love and agree with the vision on money being a social construct. The question is, how do we get people who grew up in a world that worships the individual to get this? I am currently working on my graduation project surrounding this topic. @Ali, would love to share thoughts some time.

@krmkrx#215979 I mean, the earlier Events tab is now the Total tile. Still takes the same amount of click to get the same overview. I understand where you're coming from, don't get me wrong. You just want an app with a lot less going on.

However, I don't think that bunq was ever about that. Sure, the current app is not perfect and they will iterate on their designs and features and surely in 1-2 years of time the app will probably look starkly different from now again, but V2 being so simple was mostly just out of necessity, not because their vision suddenly shifted.

Lastly, I think the comment that Bastian made about the API shouldn't be brushed away so lightly. The access you get with the bunq API is unprecedented and you don't find something like this at any other bank. It's thanks to this API that there are tools like bunqDesktop, bunq2ynab, a ton of integrations into different finance-related apps, and much more. If the need for a "V2-style" app is big enough then you'll also find developers that create it. The consequences of this API existing will only become clearer and clearer as bunq hopefully grows in size. (And sure I know every bank has an API per PSD2 legislation, but these are often limited to very specific tasks and not something the average developer could access in their free time. Something I should rant about some more at some point but good for bunq in a sense.)

They’ve managed to make it even more convoluted and difficult to get to the community, unbelievable.

@LH-Black-Wolf#216386 From my experience a lot of people confused the community forums with an official support channel, and often didn't look into the official Knowledge topics before asking. Having the options more clearly labeled will hopefully guide more people to the right places so that they can get help faster. The Menu on the Community tab also got a bit crowded and had like 5 different buttons. It seems like they attempted to group them more into logical sub-groups (also on the Home tab where we have new headlines in the menu). I like it.

So bunq thinks banking is “social”? Maybe for you - not for me. I want a business account not social ridiculousness. Just make it go away. And Quit trying to tell us what we like...huge flaw in most marketing people and engineers.
