Hi all, to be sure about the switch service I have two questions
1) where do I find a form to be filled in to start a Switch service from my current bank to my Bunq accounts
2) is my understanding correct (from other posts) that for a joint account, (at other side and at Bunq side) Switch service is not available.

if 2) is true, that is a serious setback. I have to inform all parties with SEPA incasso rights individually of my change. that is a lot of work.
Maybe bunq can compensate us switchers with a longer free of charge period ;-)

    Hi @Robert-Purple-Lynx-1913986431#36339 πŸ‘‹

To initiate the Switch Service you go to your profile picture and then Dutch Switch Service (overstapservice).

In my opinion, I don't like the service at all. There are some serious drawbacks reading the Terms & Agreements. Especially the cancellation fee, I understand there are costs involved for the bank cancelling the service but the amount totally scared me off.

With certain banks it is not possible to cancel the old account (or it is a lot of hassle) and you'll need to keep paying for the old account for 13 months, while the service lasts, and again remember the costs for cancelling. Besides that, I have about 20 monthly Direct Debits, 19 of them could be changed within like 2 minutes of work (per company). Signing in on their site -> profile settings -> change account number. So thats not even an hour of manual labor but you are sure everything is done well. You get the idea. Some mandates can't be switched just by using the switch service and need manual changes anyway. And to reply to your number 2). It is indeed not possible (yet) to use it with bunq for joint accounts.

    Have a nice day! πŸŒˆπŸ™‚

Question 1) was already answered, but I still want to react to question 2).

Yes, the Dutch Switch Service is at the moment not available from β€œany bank” en/of accounts to bunq joint account. This has to do whiff legal reasons. A work-a-round could be, if you old bank those allow it to take a name off you en/of account and do start the Dutch Switch Service to a shared account. After you accepted a Direct Debit you move it to your joint account.
On the point of bank not allowing you to cancel your account after you started the Dutch Switch Service, by law and by the regulation of the Dutch Switch Service they a forced to comply the your request to cancel your account (this has no effect on the Dutch Switch Service). Some banks will try to force you to stay on as a paying costumer but you are free to cancel your account. Some banks will try to keep you on as a free costumer, watch out for that, this means you still have obligations to them and they still have active access to you data, this is a gray aria.
