Hey bunqers 🌈
As you know, bunq is a Dutch bank and therefore our original IBANs are Dutch. Since we’ve launched Local IBANs, local residents in Germany, France and Spain can get a Local IBAN so that they can get the full local experience. However, this doesn’t mean that you can’t get a Dutch IBAN too!
What’s a Dutch IBAN?
bunq is a European bank based in the Netherlands meaning that your IBANs are located in the Netherlands. You can recognize this when you see the NL in your IBANs. 🇳🇱
Even if you’re not Dutch, your Dutch IBAN is accepted everywhere, by all authorities. Your IBAN is fully legal and usable in every country. If you experience any kind of discrimination regrading your Dutch IBAN make sure to report this case as explained here
