  • I can’t receive money.

I couldn’t receive money in other currency (usd) so they adviced me to upgrade plan to 8.99€ per month and I will be able to get payments in other currency. I did it and the same problem occurs. They are just lying and nobody want to speak with you if there is problem of any kind.

@paatiik#243198 Did you create a USD sub-account? Only the USD sub-account can receive USD payments. That's probably what they advised you to do. The local currency sub-accounts are available only for 'Easy Money' plan and higher. See this article for more info: https://together.bunq.com/d/45414 I've already used them with several different currencies and they work fine, so I don't understand exactly what you mean with lying?

@paatiik#243198 If you have a dollar account, people can transfer dollars to you without any issues. Bunq support isn't lying.

They adviced me to upgrade plan, not to create sub account.

I need to have same IBAN to receive this payments which I’m waiting for. So creating sub account is not option for me.

@paatiik#243209 I need to have same IBAN to receive this payments which I’m waiting for.

That's not possible. But you can open the USD sub-account, receive the money there and then easily convert it from USD to Euros on your already existing sub-account. Please also refer to this article for information about how transfers in different currencies work: https://together.bunq.com/d/48261

@Jakob-Y#243229 I already told you, I need the same IBAN, same country. If I open sub account, it change IBAN to other country.

@paatiik#243231 You can't have the same IBAN for Euro and Dollar payments. Then the person paying the dollars should pay in Euro's using a service like Transferwise.

@paatiik#243206 You needed to upgrade your plan, in order to open a Dollar account. So what they said was correct.

@paatiik#243231 Yes. All the non-Euro accounts have GB IBANs. But they still belong to you, it's mostly just a technicality because the non-Euro accounts are administered that way internally. There is no use of arguing about it here on the community forums, we're just other bunq users and cannot change anything about it. That's just the way things are.

I can give you another option, though. Instead of using bunq directly, you can use the services from Wise. They offer a multi-currency account that can receive domestic US payments and allows you to easily send the money to your European bunq account afterwards in Euro, so there won't be a problem with the conversion. And the sender (if they're from the US) doesn't need to go through the hassle of sending an international payment. I've done this before and it also works great.

Maybe other community members have more ideas, but I don't think there's anything that can be done about the Euro sub-accounts at bunq. The help article I linked above is very clear on this. You can only receive Euros on them.

@Jakob-Y#243239 Company don’t want to send it to another country IBAN. I don’t know what’s so hard to understand. Also there is nobody on support that could answer me for the whole day.

@paatiik#243242 It's possible to open a sub-account with a French, German, Irish, Spanish or Dutch IBAN. Do you need one of those?

By the way, a company not willing to pay to an IBAN is illegal, and is IBAN discrimination.

                          @paatiik#243242 I don’t know what’s so hard to understand.

I understand you perfectly fine. Hopefully you understand me equally as well. But to make it perfectly clear: what you're asking for is not possible. Full stop.

Also there is nobody on support that could answer me for the whole day.

This is not the support chat, this is the public community forum. We cannot influence the support response times, because we're just bunq users like yourself, not working for them. We can help you with answering general questions about the product, share experiences, ideas etc. that sort of thing. When you need assistance with your account, then please contact support instead.

@thijsoost#243246 They told me it’s anti money laundering rule. That if I request withdrawal once with NL IBAN I need to request all the time with iban from same country.
