Some invoices have GiroCodes on them which contain payment information. It would be great to select screenshots for QR codes

@Mecid-Golden-Eagle#254518 GiroCodes, is that a German thing?
@thijsoost#254521 Yes, itβs basically just a QR Code which contains IBAN, Beneficiary, the amount and description. Itβs surprisingly common on invoices
@Mecid-Golden-Eagle#254522 Ah okay! I've never seen them in the Netherlands, although you sometimes see iDeal QR codes here (which are almost the same, but for Dutch bank accounts). Would be nice if the bunq scanner can also scan GiroCodes and iDeal codes!
@Mecid-Golden-Eagle#254522 I had the same problem some time ago:

Girocode seems to be an old implementation of QR Codes, which works with Outbank and Sparkasse-App.
Since more and more invoices in Germany do have this, I would be happy if bunq supports it, too. Sparkasse and Volksbank support it, and it is a real convenient thing. So thumbs up for this πππ»ππ»
@Johannes-Red-Panda-463593470#254550 Since bunq is a bank that is active in Β±30 countries, it's hard for them to support all the different systems in all those countries. But maybe they're willing to do so!
@thijsoost#254551 I do not know if this is only in Germany relevant. But maybe it takes not that huge effort to implement since bunq already use scanner functionality. Of course I am also aware that bunq is active in so many different countries. But Germany is certainly one of their main target markets. So I hope they will π€π»π
EPC QR codes (also known as Girocode in Germany) should work fine. What doesn't work is the Bezahlcode, an old semi-standard that you can't even find any official website or documentation for nowadays because it basically got abandoned. For that reason I would not anticipate that bunq will include Bezahlcode support in the future.
EPC QR / Girocode have this kind of content:
BCD
002
1
SCT
BFSWDE33BER
PAYEE
DE33100205000001194700
EUR100
Bezahlcode looks like this inside:
bank://singlepaymentsepa?name=PAYEE%20AG&reason=RF0000000000000%20QR&iban=DE33100205000001194700&bic=BFSWDE33BER&amount=100%2C00
If you're having trouble with scanning a supposed Girocode, maybe test with a universal QR code scanner to see if it's not really a Bezahlcode?
I tried to scan an EPC QR code, but it didn't work properly. Both the name of the company and the IBAN were not detected.
