Marvin No, this isn't automatic. Bunq first needs to check whether you're entitled to the refund, if I'm not mistaken
And it can take up to three business days. So no, the weekends don't count.
Thijs If the refund for a direct debit is requested within 8 weeks after it has been paid, then it should be accepted automatically unconditionally according to SDD scheme. I'm not aware of the specifics, but bunq probably first contacts the debitor's bank and waits for the money before crediting it to the user's account, which could explain the possible delay. Maybe Marvin can tell us how long it took for him :)
