  • Trying to uae BUNQ in Hungary

Hi, I've been trying to pay using bunq in Hungary but so far I had no luck. I keep getting error code from POS that even the shop owner never seen before. It does not matter if I use physical or digi card with phone. The app says nothing and has no info about the rejected payments.

Does anyone have any tips or know whats going on? Been in same situation?

Luckily I have other card from other banks. Otherwise I would have been screwed.

          @New-Champagne-Waterbuck-2566879554#265159 I have been to Hungary as well and had the same issue. When I switched from bunq maestro ro bunq mastercard debit card, the problem was solved for me.

            Maybe bunq should hide the Maestro card order option for users outside of The Netherlands and Belgium by default. Of course, it should still be possible to order it in case it is needed, but right now if you're someone who doesn't know the distinction then it could very well happen to you that you order a card which isn't gonna work great in the country you're living in.

                If that’s what the issue can you send me the right card so I won’t waste my time! I am is a situation I can’t maintain my personal banking I am stuck I have money in cash can’t use my whole life is online! And can’t even change currency either because in Italy shut down most money exchanges! Please help me what can I do.

At bunq, you do everything by yourself through the app. Ordering a card only takes a few taps, and you can select exactly what kind of card you want.

                  I don't know anything about your situation, what you're doing right now, what kind of problems you're experiencing, what you're trying to accomplish, or what card you want or need right now. If you have any questions that you feel the community might be able to help with, feel free to clarify and we'd be glad to help you. If you need to speak with bunq about anything in particular, then you can contact them through the in-app support chat.

                  Just to give you the most basic information: bunq offers both Mastercards and Maestro cards. You can use the Mastercard everywhere that Mastercard is accepted. And you can use the Maestro card everywhere Maestro is accepted.
