Usually Bunq does interest payments on the 1st of each month, I have Oct/Nov/Dec but nothing for January?
I have interest enabled for the sub account, so unless the date which this takes place has changed then I'm not sure what's up
January interest on savings not received?

You can check if you had any money in your savings accounts. I did not catch that it has to be in savings accounts and not just a regular account.
Bunq support responded to my request - I had a sub-account which had received interest for a couple of months, and I have screenshots of my configuration to receive interest. However I was told as the account was not a "Savings account" the interest payments stopped. I feel like this was something that went wrong with the December update as this was working OK for me.
Anyway, I had to create another new sub-account, mark it as a savings account, and should see interest next month

@New-Cyan-Basilisk-3069237711#273819 yeah they changed from giving interest to all accounts to only ‘savings accounts’ can receive interest. Annoying but at least the interest rate increased.
@xiaoming#273827 Yeah I re-read the emails / blog posts and it seems like that was the part I missed!
Definitely can't complain about the interest rate increase, I'm in Ireland and most banks here are not offering any interest or only 0.01% at best

Hi guys! I had the same issue. I requested interest to be paid in a payment account where I keep my money but I did not receive any because a payment account isn't a savings account. I find the setting very misleading because it lets you think you can choose in which sub-account you'll accrue interest. My solution was very easy, I moved all my money to Openbank where the interest rate now is higher and the settings whatsoever clear. Is good to have customization when it is clear, easy and simple.

@New-Blue-Chimpanzee-2907675449#274641 The issue here is that you misunderstood the setting you're talking about. That setting sets the account on which you want the interest to be paid out. So on that account, the interest is deposited every month.
You indeed only receive interest over saving goals.

I have the same problem… Up and untill december I received interest on my ‘savings’ account. Settings seems fine to receive interest, but this year I haven’t received any interest yet, can someone please help me if I have to change anything in my settings?
@thijsoost#274644 I seem only to get interest on my 'main' account and not on my 'savings' account. How is that possible?

@New-Strawberry-Hippopotamus-1726702656#274646 The interest you receive over all your savings accounts is always paid out to one specific account. You can configure that account here: Profile ->⚙️ -> Freedom of choice.
So you probably receive interest over your savings account(s), and receive it in the account you call main account.

@Dominique-Indigo-Panther#274645 Are you sure the account are savings accounts/saving goals, and not regular accounts?
ThijsProdigy
@New-Strawberry-Hippopotamus-1726702656#274646 You receive the interest on the account that you've set in the bunq settings (Profile > Settings > Freedom of choice). This is where the money is deposited every first day of the month.
The interest you receive there is based on the money you have in all your saving accounts.
@thijsoost#274644 Totally correct; unfortunately I am a regular person with a life and have no time to go through all the miscellanea. I am done with it. I might be traditional but hey, 1,50% openbank, 1,31% bunq. Why bother...?
ThijsProdigy
@New-Blue-Chimpanzee-2907675449#274664 If interest is the only thing you care about, then it's indeed smart to move to the bank with the highest interest rate!
For me, bunq isn't perfect, but it's still the bank that suits my needs best. That's why I've been a bunq customer for the last five years
Thought Bunq was easy. Missed this one that you didn’t get interest on your main account. Pricing sheet suggests this was the case…

@New-Azure-Hog-3548641494#274756 This was the case for a few years, but this has changed since a few months.

@New-Azure-Hog-3548641494#274756 completely agree, bunq is becoming more and more like an ordinary bank with all their complications and tricks .. why I have to deal with saving accounts to get interest ? Without any warning also , I now see I stopped receiving interest since December 2022 already. Amazing bunq 👏
I haven't received interest for February, support is useless for weeks, just saying that there is some bug in the application and they are working on it. It is already the end of March with no even ETA on when this will be fixed. In any regular bank, they will adjust manually the amount within hours and fix their bug in the background. Their CEO was very proud during the Bunq event about the interest rate, but how to believe in it and recommend to others when I don't receive it at all?
Have not received interest on 1st of April and 1st of May, no answer from support yet. If something doesnt happen in telhe next few days I will move my money away...
