bunq ZeroFX complicates/breaks accounting

Hi,

Any news on the ZeroFX multiple transaction issue? This really really really sucks! It costs me more (time) to fix the administration than I save with ZeroFX. My administration in Moneybird is a mess now since ZeroFX.

Can Bunq please give some priority for this issue?

Brandforward 100% agree! It's takes lots of time! I rather pay the transaction costs than the increased time for administrative. Any news on this issue? Or is it solved already?

Any news on a real fix? The same mess is still happening in Moneybird .. The extra money i have to pay a bookkeeper to handle the transaction mess is not the worth they money I save with ZeroFX.

well the solution would be for the bookkeeping software such as exact, informer etc to use the api card endpoint something or other as those only communicate 1 transaction even for transactions in another currency. i'm not sure of the specifics but this should be possible, without needing to turn zerofx off

yes excellent suggestion, though it is up to companies behind the products exact online, informer, afas, money bird or whatever else bookkeeping or accounting software to implement it this way.

Would it be possible to mark the ‘reservations’ as “Reserved for ZeroFX”? It clutters MoneyBird a lot. MoneyBird Support sends us to Bunq, and Bunq sends us back.

True but sometimes I get a refund after a week after I already finished my transaction and have to unlink payments again and fix it which makes it really annoying.

Aspect Kent bunq introduced a toggle a while ago, see https://together.bunq.com/d/9241-zerofx-toggle-for-business-account. This allows you to disable this system to keep the bookkeeping manageable/one line per transaction. Behind the scenes bunq immediately pushes updates over the API, and technically speaking you pay, get refunded and then pay again when the exchange rate is known. I don't think it's easily possible to work around that (yeah you can group things etc in the frontend.. But in the backend it still works the same). So there is this workaround. Not ideal, I can see that, but as far as I understood the best bunq could offer at this point. 🙂👍

Sander It would be best if bunq specified the original transaction ID in the callback so the app/software knows for which payment the refund had been issued.

Seriously, we do need a real fix for this. E.g. bunq, by default, needs to send exactly 1 transaction (only the final one) via its API to tools like moneybird, moneymoney, or Subsembly Banking4. Or, give bunq users a switch to turn on/off the intermediary transactions.

As it stands right now, bunq is unusable with ZeroFX turn on and too expensive with ZeroFX turned off.
Also, bunq Premium users don't even have the option to switch this.

I am desperately waiting for this fix so I can finally move my main account to bunq.
