Hi Bunq,
Is this the right place for candid feedback?
I think you should break up with Paysafe.
This month I tried to deposit cash via them. I was in quite a pickle because I really needed this β¬500 on my bank account so as not to default on my mortgage. It was quite stressful (no worries, it's been resolved with help from family)
At first, my Paysafe account was immediately blocked, without any explanation. I suspect it's because I tried to make two QR codes at the same time, since the limit per QR code is β¬250 (sigh) and I couldn't generate the second QR code on the street since I don't have mobile data. Maybe my VPN and the custom domain name for my account also didn't help.
I don't even blame them (or you), in a regulatory environment that is actively hostile to privacy, especially when financial transactions are involved. I know you're actively trying to resist it. Governments are just lucky that the public isn't paying attention that the government is building infrastructure to spy on every single transaction that they do. Using money laundering as an excuse. Every transaction between any two people is to be made only with the implicit permission of the government! Anyway, I digress.
After I raised hell both at Paysafe and at Bunq customer service to get my account unblocked (which took about a week), I went to a nearby shopping center that had, according to the map on the Paysafe website, 6 shops that accepted paysafe.
The first shop didn't even exist anymore. The second one said "we don't do that anymore since there's no commission for us". The other 4 didn't know what I was talking about. When I look around on this forum I find lots of other examples of people that had the same experience in different neighborhoods. One person even called every single shop on the list, and none of them accepted paysafe deposits.
Revolut, on their website, flatly states that deposits aren't possible. The same seems to be true for Bunq. Had I known that one month ago, I would have made different decisions. Informed ones.
So while it'd be best if you found a way to allow cash deposits (and keep fighting against KYC!) in the meantime it'd be nice if at the very least you stated that you don't
Thanks,
Toon
