One of the main apps that scammers use to gain unauthorized access to bunq accounts is AnyDesk. AnyDesk is a widely used application that lets users connect to and control devices from another device. While it's a commonly used app for technical support, it's also a tool frequently exploited by scammers. So, for your own safety, do not use this type of application.
Important Note: We DO NOT use AnyDesk services and we’ll never ask you to resolve any matter via this application or another 3rd party application. Also - bunq NEVER calls you. We will never ask you for any personal information or login codes. If someone calls you, pretending to be a bunq employee or asking you for sensitive information, hang up immediately.

How are scammers using AnyDesk?
Scammers pose as technical support agents or bunq representatives and they convince you with urgency that there’s suspicious activity regarding your account. They then ask you to download and install AnyDesk to "resolve" these issues. Once you install the AnyDesk app, they gain direct control over your device and therefore your bank account.
Fraudsters send phishing emails or create fake websites that prompt you to download AnyDesk. This type of communication often contains alarming messages about security threats, the need to redo your verification or account issues. At first glance their design is similar to our products or websites.

How to stay safe from AnyDesk scams?
We value your security and privacy, that's why we never use services like AnyDesk and we won't ask you to resolve any issues through this platform.
Also, remember that we will NEVER call you to ask for personal information or login codes. If you ever receive a call from someone claiming to be from bunq and asking for such details, please hang up right away and report the suspicious activity on bunq.com/report.
Always be suspicious of any unsolicited help or urgent requests to install software or share access to your computer.
How does bunq keep me safe from remote access software?
We've implemented a system that spots remote access apps like AnyDesk. Our system will (try to) spot it and place a payment limit on your account to prevent further loss of funds.
I have a payment limit placed. What now?
Rest assured, our dedicated team will conduct a review of your account within the next 5 business days. During this period, you can continue to use your account for your regular daily expenses, such as grocery shopping. However, bigger payments won’t be allowed until the review is completed.
