Hey bunqers 🌈
Your security is our top priority! We use multiple layers of protection to keep your account, funds, and personal information safe. Here’s a quick overview of how we protect you from fraudsters:
Detection for remote access software
We’ve set up a system to detect fraudulent remote access apps (like AnyDesk) on your device. If we find one, we'll apply a payment limit to your account to prevent potential loss of funds.

Security code reset
If you think someone else has access to your account, you can reset your Security Code. This will log out all active sessions, and you'll need to re-verify your identity to log in on a new device.
Learn how to reset your Security Code here.
IBAN name check
When transferring money to an external bank account, we’ll check that the recipient’s name matches the IBAN. If there’s a mismatch, we’ll ask you to confirm before proceeding. This helps prevent errors and fraud.
More details on this here.
Additional security warnings
We’ve added extra security notifications to keep you aware of potential fraud risks. These alerts will pop up when actions like logging in, making a payment, or changing your limits could be risky.
Safety tips
We will never call you! We’ll never ask for your personal details, login info, or payment activity via SMS, email, or phone.
Official communication only happens in the bunq app. Any unsolicited communication claiming suspicious activity is likely a scam. Do not click any links - contact us directly through the app if you need help.
