• Where to switch from an outdated Travel plan?

I have been a Bunq customer since 2020 and I really like the travel card that I still have.
Unfortunately, it is about to expire and I am looking for a way to get a replacement (physical card) with similar terms to my original Travel Plan. Previously, my plan was automatically switched from Travel to Easy Savings.
If I understand correctly, there are 3 options now (if we don't consider more advanced plans):
1) The first option is to stay on the Easy Savings plan. However, if I understand correctly, the physical card will cost €9.99/year. Can you tell me what this means?
1.1) Will a Master Card be issued, with a Credit type (not Debit), as was previously the case for Travel?
1.2) What is the validity period of the new physical card? Just 1 year? Or 4 years, as it was previously for Travel plan?
1.3) How does the payment of €9.99/year work? Is it 1 part at the beginning of each new annual period, or is it different? What happens if suddenly at that moment the required amount is not in the account, will the card be terminated?
1.4) Will my expired physical travel card be replaced free of charge as described here? https://together.bunq.com/d/1974-how-do-i-replace-my-card/3
“Did your card expired? Don't worry, the replacement will be free. You'll receive a push notification in your bunq app asking you to confirm your current address and a new card will be sent your way! ”
Currently the Bunq app offers me the option “You can get a new replacement for free. Get replacement card”. But when I enter the data to order the new card – I am redirected to the page “Upgrade to Easy Bank for 3.99EUR/Month”
How to use the free expired physical card replacement feature in my case?

2) The second option is to switch to the Easy Card plan. From the description I couldn't find much difference compared to the Easy Savings plan, except that Easy Card doesn't have the ability to make savings. Please tell me if Easy Card plan has any advantages over Easy Savings plan?
3) The third option is to switch to Easy Bank. It has some benefits, but I'm not quite sure I can really take advantage of them since I don't travel that often. However, there is a question, when switching to Easy Bank, is there a minimum amount of time that it is mandatory to use it? Or let's say I could switch to Easy Bank for 1 month and then go back to the Easy Savings plan? How often can I change plans during the year?

Hey @New-Turquoise-Tiger-3290937612#296861 , thanks for engaging with our community.

    To answer your questions:
    1) With Easy Savings, you can have a Free Virtual Card. You can then order a physical version of it €9.99 per year.
1.1) The type of card issued will be a Mastercard Credit card. This card works like a traditional credit card but without the risk of falling into debt. You'll need to add money to your Credit Mastercard before you can use it for payments. It is accepted by merchants who only accept credit cards and is ideal for hotel reservations, car rentals, and other payments that require a deposit.
1.2) The card will be valid for 4 years indeed.
1.3) Depending on your plan, there is no fee for a new card. For example, if you're on Easy Bank, it's 1 physical card included for free. This means you can have the card and use it freely included in your plan. If you get a second card on Easy Bank plan, since it won't be included, it will be €9.99 per card order + €3.49 per month per card. You can find our pricing sheet here
1.4) If your card is expired and no longer active, a replacement for this card is not possible. Instead, you can order a new card within the app. Once you have a new card, the replacement conditions here will apply. How ever to be able to further assist you, please reach out to support so we can better assist you with this!
    2) Easy Card plan doesn't have a Savings account and is more focused on the card usage. Easy Savings plan offers you Savings account options and a Free Virtual Credit Card. You can find a brief comparison here
    3) You can change your plan as much as you need. There is no limitation for that. Easy Bank is everything you'd expect from a mobile bank, plus essential features that let you enjoy precious time with friends. More details can be found here

    Hope this helps!

Hi, thank you very much for your help!
I have one more question regarding point 1.4). My current Bunq Travel card is still active (until the end of November 2024). How can I get a free replacement? I don’t need multiple cards, just need a replacement for one card which will expire soon. I am currently on the Easy Savings plan.
I contacted bunq support and got a few different options, the first was that I just need to wait for a push notification from the bunq app to offer to replace the card. I think I unfortunately missed that push notification. Another advice was to completely close my current card and order a new one.
But, according to this article: https://together.bunq.com/d/1974-how-do-i-replace-my-card/3
“Did your card expire? “ - “Don't worry, the replacement will be free. You'll receive a push notification in your bunq app asking you to confirm your current address and a new card will be sent your way! “
So, if my card is not blocked and still active, but expires soon, then it is possible to get a replacement for free (and not for the €9.99 one-time fee)? The article doesn't state that this only applies to certain plans, so do I understand correctly that the free replacement of physical cards that expires soon applies to all plans? For example, for both the Easy Savings plan and the Easy Bank plan?

        Hey @New-Turquoise-Tiger-3290937612#296878 👋

You're absolutely correct! If your card is active and it's about to expire, we will replace it for free. This process is automatic. A few months before the card expires, you will receive a push notification to let you know. All you have to do is confirm your address in the bunq app, and we will take care of the rest! 🚀

The replacement card will have the same card description as the previous one, but it will have a new card number and an updated expiry date. The replacement card will be valid for 4 years.

This free replacement applies to all plans, including both the Easy Savings plan and the Easy Bank plan. However, please note that if you are an Easy Bank user and you want to replace your card manually, the replacement will cost you €9.99.

You can find more information about this process here.
