- Choose the account type For me
- Fill in your personal details
- Invite your parent to approve your account as your legal guardian
Note 1: Youâll have 90 days to provide us with your Tax Identification Number (TIN) after the verification process is completed.
Note 2: Your parent can approve your request even if theyâre not a bunq user yet.
How can I verify their identity?
If youâre under 16 - For children under the age of 16, there's no need for identity verification.
If youâre at an age between 16 and 18 - Once you get verified and turn 16, youâll receive an in-app notification to complete identity verification. This step secures your account and allows you to log in on a new device without needing parental approval. After we review your Identification Document, we might ask you to verify it again if the previous attempt didnât meet our requirements (expired or blurry ID, no selfie match).
When you turn 18 - When you turn 18, the link to your parentâs account will be removed automatically, with no changes to your account. About a month before your 18th birthday, you'll need to accept the Terms & Conditions yourself. If not accepted by then, your account will temporarily be unusable until this step is completed.
How can I share my Tax Identification Number (TIN)?
You donât need to provide your TIN during signup. Youâll have 90 days after the account creation to submit it. To do so, follow these steps:
- Go to đ€ Profile
- Tap on the TIN event under "Awaiting events"
- Provide us with the relevant proof of your TIN

What if my parent doesn't have a bunq account yet?

The invitation will be sent either via SMS or email, based on the method youâve used to invite them. ##Why isn't my account verified in 5 minutes?
We have several automated checks to verify your account. If one of these checks fails, we may need to ask you for additional information. This could be any of the following:
- Your birth certificate
- Adoption papers
- Court order confirming custody
- Court order establishing legal guardianship
- Official documents from the Government or Embassy that clearly show your guardianâs name, your name, and the relationship between you both.
Note: Make sure you provide us with a clear picture of the entire document.
