  • Feature request: show account balance on payment amount screen

Hi bunq and fellow bunqers!

I have a small feature request regarding the screen where you enter the amount you would like to pay.

I personally use the multiple accounts offered by bunq to do some kind of envelope budgeting. I have different accounts for budget categories and try to keep my inbox account empty (having given every € a job). It would be great if the screen where you enter the amount you would like to pay/transfer would show the account balance of the account you want to transfer money from.

Obviously, it would help not having to remember the account balance when transferring all € to a different account. I can not count the times I have to go back and check the total balance when I want to transfer all to a different account. But it will also be a powerful feature when combined with the (already available) calculation tools, doing quick calculations (x% savings on all incoming €'s or split unexpected income into spending/saving for example).

So bunq, maybe a minor request. But for me personally, it would certainly help improve the user-friendliness of managing money a lot!

@Roel-Turquoise-Panda#49695 Thanks Roel for this request. You have my ✋. I want this feature too, because I use the workaround for saving. For example the account balance is 1235,87 € I want to save 5,87 € (always to have round 10). So like you, sometimes I can’t remember the cents and have to go back. To see the amount balance in the pay screen would help.

@Esther-Orange-Unicorn#49782 Yes, that's also a very good idea! It's also very interesting what uses cases other bunqers have (having multiple accounts and instant transfers enables really useful ways of managing finances), so thanks for sharing!

        6 months later

Moneyou Go has done an update to the app and in my opinion improved upon there previous implementation of how they show the account balance when you transfer money (but without combining it with a calculation option, as offered by bunq, which would really make it super useful).

The app shows the account where the money will be send from and i) the account with current balance if it is an account owned by you ii) no balance, just the beneficiary if it is an external IBAN account.

Of course I would be silly to just copy/paste stuff from other banks (as bunq is the best app around!), but maybe it could provide some design inspiration ;-)
