Hi MvWoensel 👋
(English summary below)
Thank you for your detailed feedback! I will respond to it briefly between the lines.
No list of categories that you can tap to view specific posts. It is scrambled 1 big mountain of posts, and not even filtered at most recently. If a few people now respond to something from 3 years ago, that is again at the top of Together .
Once, I would also like to see this myself. The app vs Web version of Together still differ a lot in terms of possibilities.
Dutch, English, German, French: it is all mixed up and there is no option to indicate what YOU want to see. For example, I do not need to see German and French posts that pollute the overview. I do not understand the languages, do not write it and do not live there.
As moderators, we strive to draw as many discussions as possible into English. Sometimes, however, the topic starters do not understand English. Languages also want to change within a topic. It would be useful to split Together into that sense, but on the other hand, bunq also does not want to make 'groups' / make a distinction. Everyone is welcome everywhere. I find it difficult.
There are flags on some posts, but some do not. To indicate which language the post is, does it seem to me? But in practice it only confuses, because the title is English, so why is there a Dutch flag?
We place the flags as moderators, we do this because your previous point (filtering) is not present in the current Together . With the flags we indicate the 'main language' of a topic. With this we hope to prevent people who are German / French / Spanish / whatever are not powerful yet to give an indication if they can understand a topic. We translate the title so that as many people as possible can see what a topic is about. However, we do not adjust post (the content).
The title of almost all posts is in English, and if he is not English but just Dutch or German - because the post also has that language - bunq employees fit him in casually. So you can not really search for a Dutch post title, because they are English 🙃
Yes, because we regularly received comments that people did not understand what a topic was about, and in that sense English is still the language of communication. The search function also looks for keywords within the threads itself, so searching for those words is still possible. It is not ideal, preferably I saw that titles / topics were automatically translated using the language of your device / app. Something for the future perhaps.
bunq almost always reacts in English everywhere, which causes irritation or communication issues for many people. Please just respond in the language of the message, instead of imposing English on everyone at Together and beyond 🙂
If you look closely at recent reports, we moderators often place a reply in the language in which the topic is opened. So this is already happening. Sometimes, however, we try to draw the language to English so that as many people as possible can get involved in the discussion. English is not imposed, but promoted, simply to be as open as possible. Together is not an obligation but a service. You can use that service in Dutch wherever you want (we will not remove your comments), but sometimes someone who does not speak Dutch will interfere. That is the case with public forums in my opinion. 🙂
Hope to give you a small insight from the Moderator perspective. In many ways it is also something that works for us moderators. We look at the feedback, discuss it with each other and apply it where necessary (eg I think the flags were an idea from the community 👍).
Always listening anyway. 👍😁
- No categories or whatsoever for Together (in app). Provide searching by categories / tags.
I'd love to see this too!
- Languages are mixed, no option to filter, provide an option to filter for a specific language (s).
We try to move as many topics as possible to join the discussion. Languages within a topic May switch sometimes, It would be nice to split Together per language In that sense, but bunq ook does not want to group people. Everyone is welcome everywhere. Difficult matter in my opinion.
- Some posts have flags, or a title in a foreign language, it only confuses me (...)
- you can not search for Dutch titles. Leave titles be. Some people do not speak / read / write English
We do not know what a topic is about before opening it. We add the flags to show the 'main language' of a post so you can decide whether it is useful to open it or not. The search function also searches within threads, so yes, you can not search for them in terms of titles, but you can also search for them in the posts contents (which we do not change).
- bunq typically replies in English, please use the language in the original post
When you look at recent messages you will see that we, moderators, in the language used in the original post (with or without the help of translation services). 🙂 However, sometimes we try to pull a discussion as many as possible to join in the discussion. This is completely in line with bunq 's approach with using English as the primary communication language. 🙂
And yes, for consistency I've changed your topics' title as well, sorry. 😉
