  • Add expiration date to card allowed countries

@Horia-Turquoise-Quokka#52982 Or maybe it automatically blocks after you haven't used the card in that country for 'x' days?

In the begin there was a function to add countries with a start and end date. Was ideal for planning your trip before you actualy leave the country so you can't forget to enable it. Maybe a idea to implement it again?

Wouldn't it be smarter to make this location dependant? With a push notification or pop up: You are entering [country]. Do you want to use your cards in this country?
      - No
      - Yes
      - Yes but only today
      - Yes until [pick date]
      - Yes, but ask me again when I leave this country
      - Yes and don't ask me about this country again

@Rembrandt#53156 Personally, I don't want to give bunq access to my location information (privacy reasons). But I wouldn't mind having both options available 😉

@Dominik#53209 Hm, in the EU Most Data Plans have Roaming

@Dominik#53211 Thats Right xD but if you go somewhere else for a long time, i think you will get yourself an Data Plan.
But for short travels...That’s a problem

@Rembrandt#53156 very good idea, it's the same how telco's do this when you're on your mobile, and the bunq app on iOS already has a gps check built-in*, so it could very easily be extended to automate card activation based on location.

(*sadly this is currently used to limit Apple Pay to supported countries only)

@Horia-Turquoise-Quokka#53205 As soon as you use your card in New York, Bunq knows that you aren‘t in London anyway 🤓

@Dominik#53209 Most airports have wifi, which you need anyway to book your Uber... but true - roaming can still be expensive.

@Rembrandt#53274 I'm aware of that. Bunq can infer my approximate location based on transaction information. And that's all that they should be able to do. Location services would give detailed information of my whereabouts. And they don't need that... Privacy first 😉

@Dominik#53209 Nowadays with the free roaming across the EU, and most data plans including GBs for North America , Asia, etc. I don't see myself ever turning of my data when travelling

I would love a sort of prompt to enable banking for a country based on location, for example if I forgot to do so. But I don't think this is a suitable replacement for start and end dates - it complements it. An end date makes sure that if I forget to remove a country, it's handled for me.
